I've never done popcorn, but I like to hang cherry candy canes because they're delicious!

definitely not popcorn, my cats would eat it!! I used to do candy canes but i tend to realize i only want to eat about 3 of them before i get tired of them. I hate to waste them so i don't do it anymore.

candy canes! we buy fun flavored ones, though, like sour patch kids!

@autumnlove: A couple of weeks ago I found a box of cherry candy canes left over from last Christmas...I can't believe I let them go to waste! Actually I tried one to double check quality but it was pretty gooey on the outside. I also had a chocolate Santa in the box! Such a shame.

candy canes. Not peppermint ones though, the fruity ones. I love them.

My husband does candy canes, and I can't stand it. He never eats them, they just get put back in the decorations box for the next year. Every year, I sneak a few out and toss them. I don't know why I don't like it!

We always hang rawhide candy canes on the tree and when we're feeling nice we give one to each dog. We have to hang them high enough that they don't get sniped though! lol!

@prettylizy: Wow. My dog would attack that tree if we left him alone with it!

@artbee: mine are pretty dumb, and they don't have good noses... out of sight out of mind!

I put up candy canes. They're the same ones from like 6 years ago. Ha!

@prettylizy: My dog is no brainiac, but raw hide is his crack. He would find a way to the top of any tree if it had rawhide on it!
We had candy canes on ours for a couple of years, but neither of use really like them so we put them back in the box of decorations (still wrapped). When we took them out last year they were sort of gooey and disgusting, so that was the end of that.
Popcorn just seems like you are inviting critters in. Maybe it's because I live in a ground floor apartment where we have had mice issues in the past, but I would never put real popcorn on the tree. It's pretty, but no.

Never did popcorn! I used to hang candy canes as a child. DH and I stuck with just ornaments and lights last year.

Candy canes and we aren't allowed to eat them until after Christimas Morning lol

My parents used to do both. Now just popcorn cause the candy canes were going to waste every year, since we aren't at home to eat them. Their tree looks odd if they don't string the popcorn.
We don't have either on our tree.

We had candy canes on our tree when I was a kid. My mom would get all of the fun flavors!
I don't think we'll be putting anything edible on our tree.

When I was a kid I used to beg my mom to let us string popcorn and cranberries like I saw on cartoons and she always said no, haha. We did hang candy canes a few years. I don't do either now.
