I always want to make cute birthday banners, paper labels, etc for birthdays or whatnot. I've been looking into the Cricut Explore Air and it seem so neat! You can do so much with them. Do you have one? Do you love it? Is it expensive ( outside of the initial purchase )to do projects with it? Tell me what you think about them, or show me some projects you've done.

I had a Silhouette that I ended up giving my sister. Not sure what the cricut does now but I didn't like the cricut because I didn't want to pay for cartridges.
My sister loves the Silhouette. They give free shapes out each Tuesday. You can buy shapes and fonts but can also import free internet shapes.

I have a super old cricut. The cartridges got pricey quickly. From what I hear about the newest one, it seems amazing and I've been wanting it so badly!

Thanks, I'll look into the silhouette too. It sounds like the cricut has everything online now, so you can just pick what you want off of the app which is neat.
@Boogs: You can do so much with the new ones.. vinyl, iron ons, paper.. I have no idea if all like machines do that as I've only started looking into them, but so neat!

I love my cricut! I am big into scrapbooking so I use it a lot for cards and to make my scrapbook pages. I just have one of the original cricuts that does the 12 inch pages. I was at a scrapbooking retreat this weekend (I go twice a year with the ladies in my family!) and I used their cricut explorer. So cool!!! My cricut has been a good investment but I agree that the cartridges get expensive. At least with the explorer you can just buy individual images instead of the whole cartridge.

I have a silhouette! It is so versatile. And the software is pretty straightforward. You can import pretty much anything to trace for shapes. The possibilities are endless with what you can do. I've made stickers, picture frames with vinyl, used vinyl as stencils to paint words of wood signs, Party favors and t-shirts. If you search silhouette projects on Pinterest, you can really get an idea of what you can do. A coworker has a cricut and she's always complaining about this she wishes she could do/the software is not user friendly.

I have the very first cricut expression (super old school). I love using it for parties! The cartridges got a lil pricey, but ebay always has them for a steal. There also seems to be a lot of sales on Cricut lately also! I talked my friend into getting one and she loves it!
The new explore and explore air looks super nifty! I hear people complain how it's not "portable" if you choose to use it outside of wifi locations.

@MrsB2012: I have a Silhouette and I LOVE it. I don't do alot of paper stuff with it, but do a lot of vinyl and iron on things. Especially shirts and monograms.

I have a Cricut and want the Silhouette. Cricut you have to buy all the cartridges and they are pricey. Silhouette is all online, from my understanding.
