I kind of do ... I have become good friends with my doula and we get together spontaneously once in a while!

I do. She doesn't have kids yet and lives about 10 mins away. We rarely see each other though since my kids keep me pretty busy.

No, I wish I did. I always want to go out to brunch on weekends, but DH hates it. And I have no one else nearby to go with. Suckssss

I used to...then we both got married and had kids, so now we gotta plan a bit, lol

Well that's a cool friend to have, @andrea! Mine is my single girlfriend. I have another friend who I think I am getting back to that point with.

I used to as well...Not so much anymore now that I am married w/kids. I miss those days sometimes!

Yep! She lives a block away & is a nurse so works shift work. It's been easy to get together while I'm on mat leave. We also pick up stuff for the other on a Tim's run. (And as any Canadian knows, that is the true test of friendship ;))

@Andrea: no. All my friends are...formal? I used to have a best friend like that but she passed away 11 months ago
I basically call my sister now when I need to go out and she always tags along:)
I need more friends. Maybe when I start working again, I'll scoop me up a gal

I do, but it's probably easier for me since most of my friends don't have kids yet.

Yes, I do. I have a few friends who will go out with me on a moment's notice. One of them isn't married nor has children so she's almost always available to just hang out.
@prettylizy: LOL! love it.

I know I need more for sure! I have met a few moms through daycare and I'm sure if I called for lunch they would be polite and accept. There are also several gals at work that we chat with about personal stuff but rarely do things outside of work. Its so hard being a working mom.

No but I wish I did! If I lived near my sister she would probably be that way though
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
Yup! She's always down for whatever any time. She doesn't have kids though, and her hubby works super late hours.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
Yep-- a handful of friends ready to do whatever, I'm usually the lame-O, pre-baby and now for sure!
pomegranate / 3895 posts
No, I really wish I did. I definitely used to, but since I've lived in this city I haven't made any friends like that
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
My sister would do it if she didn't already have plans and I have a friend that I go out with often but it wouldn't be spontaneous.
