It seems like all my friends have babies in the 50+%ile at the very least. DS has always been tiny, 50% or less, and has steadily dropped. He was 10th in height and weight at his 6 month appointment. Not worried because he is still on a curve, but just wondering how many mamas out there have little babies!
When I told him when he was really little to stop growing...I didn't mean it like that, ha!

P is very petite! Infact after some research I'm pretty sure she fits SGA (small for gestational age) putting her under the 5th % at birth for head & weight & her still being that for her head at her 9 month appt.

At her two-week appointment she was in the 48th percentile, so she's not tiny, but compared to all of the babies in my family she looks so small. I was expecting a big ol' baby with lots of rolls, but Sadie has NO rolls so far!

A is tiny! She's tall but very petite. It's hard because I constantly feel like I need to fatten her up but baby girl just won't be fattened!

LO was born at the 52nd for weight, but very quickly shot up to between the 80-90th and more recently has been dropping to around the 70th. However, for height he was born at the 97th and has steadily been declining on the charts and at last measurement (18 mo) he was in the 15th. He is still growing overall, just very slowly. His head circ. has remained right in the middle.
He doesn't appear small by his weight standards but he seems so short to me. We were at the park today and he was by far the shortest kid around for his age. Delayed growth does run in my side of the family and my MIL is also really small. I hope DS didn't get the short genes! He's cute now being little but as an adult I want him to at least be average!

@runsyellowlites: what is SGA? was your LO born early?
@photojane: DS was 50% around the same time and started to get chubby around the two month mark. now he's just long and lean, but still has little chubby cheeks. he just isn't as big as some of his daycare friends!
@travelgirl1 DS is wearing 3-6 month still and size 2 diapers, and i'm pretty sure he will be for a while!

LO is teensy. He's in the 15% for weight at his 6 month (which is actually 6.5). But he's always been around that percentile and is still gaining so *shrug*.

@matador84: SGA is "Small for Gestational Age". I went 12 days over but was never diagnosed with IUGR because I never measured behind. So at almost 42 weeks P weighed 6lb 1oz & had a head circumference of 12in. For a 40 weeks baby that seems just a bit on the small side but at 41+5 that under the 3rd %.

I was diagnosed with IUGR and LO was considered SGA as well; she was born 5 lbs 15 ounces. (I also suffer from overuse of acronyms, apparently.) She's now 12 weeks and has gained weight at a good rate, but she's still in the 2nd percentile. It's just genetics, as I am under 5 feet myself (DH is 5'8" with a slim build). A pathologist examined my placenta after LO's birth and didn't find anything that would otherwise explain LO's size.

@matador84: S has the best chubby chipmunk cheeks but that's the only chubby thing on her! I look at my baby pictures & I was all rolls from the beginning (I was born bigger than she is now!). She's so skinny I can't believe she's my kid.

At 6 months, LO was 10th percentile for weight and 16th for height. So she's a peanut, but she's still on her growth curve, so I'm not worried. And because she's small, she stays in her clothes longer - she can still wear some 3 month onesies!

LO was in the 49th percentile for height and weight at her 2 week appt. At her 2 month appt, she had mushroomed up to the 85 percentile for both. I'm actually hoping her growth has slowed.

@matador84: That's the funny thing for us, because she's wearing her harness for treatment, she actually has to wear clothes that are much too big for her, they absolutely drown her. She's such a tiny little thing : )

DS was in the 35th percentile when born and now is 45. He's filling out but he's not overly huge! Of course to me he's already way too big, we've had to pack up his newborn clothes!

Sunny is 15th for weight and 50th for height and Ria is currently 25th for weight and 50th for height, although she was 25th and 90th for a bit. Like Olive, skinny jeans are baggy on her.

Lo was born at the 50th percentile for weight and around 80ish for height. She's a long and lean kiddo - at one year, she was in the 10-15th for weight and 50th for height. Her head has always remained steady at 50th.
I'm constantly trying to fatten her up but no luck 
I think she may have finally hit 18lbs now at almost 13 months - so excited to see the scale move

My LO was tiny when she came out ... just over 5lbs {<2%} She was full term and have no idea why she's so tiny ... I'm always feeling like I need to catch her up. Now at three months she's in the 15th percentile for weight and 4th percentile for height. I know a lactation consultant though who constantly tells me not to worry about percentiles and just look for steady gain ... so I try to remind myself that even though it's hard!

Me! Mine were preemies and were in the 1st and 2nd percentiles when they were first born. They have actually gained a lot since then.
Don't freak out about it! I did and started obsessively weighing them every day. Not worth the worry. Your LO will be fine, I promise!

Lo is a preemie and is unsurprisingly small for his adjusted age. He's in the 5th %ile for weight and around 15th for height and head. I do worry about him "falling off the chart," but for now he's doing fine.

@matador84: You definitely aren't the only one! I swear babies are so big now that when you have an average size baby they look small!
My LO is super small. She has been staying right under the 3rd percentile for weight, 5th for height and 9th for head circumference. She doesn't eat very much so we have been battling with that but she's still steadily growing (slowly) under that 3rd percentile!

@rrachael: I always wonder the same thing about my little one. She was born one day shy of 40 weeks at 6 lbs 5 oz but lost 10% of her weight in just a few days. She's 7 months old now and just this past Wednesday only weighed 12lbs 15oz. I try not to worry but it's hard!

LO was born average for height and weight, but now she's in the 10th for weight, 20th for head, and 65th for height. I'm not concerned though. We were small babies, too.

Lo was in the 40th percentile for weight at 1 and 2 months but dropped to 15th percentile at 4 months. He's in 71st for height though--tall and skinny! I bought a baby scale because I was so worried about his weight gain (obsessive much, lol).

When T was born he wasn't even on the charts for height and weight. Was born 5 lb 5 oz and 17.5 inches and was only 10 days early. My husband and I were similarly sized at birth, so I wasn't totally surprised.
At almost 10 months he's shy of 17 lbs and is 27 inches. 5th percentile for weight and 10th for height (and his head has always been somewhere around 25%). I'm not concerned as he has grown SO much since birth and has remained on a good curve....and he has a crazy metabolism. He is a small baby, but not skinny - he's pretty solid. He could not possibly eat much more than he does.

N is usually in the 75-85% for height but only 25% for weight. I never thought I would have a long and lean baby. His daddy and I wouldn't be considered that.

We were 8th percentile for weight at our 6 month appointment, but 55th for height and 88th for head circumference. So, I have a long, skinny baby with a ginormous head, haha.
I'm not worried. DH is super lean, so I assume he takes after him, plus he was 3 weeks early so I try to not compare him too much to his baby friends.
