From 0-9 months we only had a sound monitor but my life was changed when we got a video monitor after that.

We have 2 different ones. We have an Angel Care motion sensor monitor with sound. We also have an old Summer video monitor. We got the video monitor when we started sleep training and its been so helpful for my peace of mind!

We have the Motorola video. We also have a roller/tummy sleeper/face-planter and I watch her like a Mama Hawk and often wonder to myself how the hell people survived before video monitors.

We got a video monitor when LO was older. She kept getting her limbs caught in the crib and it freaked me out.

Just a sound one. Sometimes I wish we had a video monitor, but DH was/ pretty against them. And I have no idea why

I didn't have a monitor until LO was 18 months old. All of a sudden I asked DH for a foscam (pretty sure Hellobee had something to do with it), which he had told me about ages ago. I love it and didn't know how I lived without it before.

Old skool!
Not really. Just so much of a nutter that LO is never alone. Haven't had to pickup a monitor yet.

Video. Cannot imagine figuring out sleep strategies without it... I freak out when it is on the fritz!

Sound only that we rarely use, still don't feel the need for a video at 16 months, but we also have a fairly small ranch style house, so he's easy to hear and a very sound sleeper, so no closed doors.

Technically we have a Foscam and an Angelcare monitor. Both are chilling in their boxes unopened.

Video! We have the Motorola one and I can't live without it. A few weeks after LO was born my husband was so tired he dropped it and the monitor wouldn't turn on. I was so panicked I ordered another one with next day AND Saturday delivery. I was that desperate. LOL, I want to blame my crazy post-partum hormones and extreme sleep deprivation but I would order one in a heartbeat if it broke again.

We have a sound monitor. Lo is right next door at night but I still wish we had a video monitor instead.

Video, ever since first LO moved out of our room at 6 months. Can't live without it even now!

Sound only - we kept LO in our room until 7 months and she had been sleeping through the night for months by the time we moved her, so there was no need for a video monitor. Glad we saved the money!
