I remember tearing up whenever "Hey pretty girl" by Kip Moore came on the radio. It's a country song about a wife and daughter and the passage of time. It came out a couple years ago. Since T was born it's kind of my anthem for her.

All throughout my pregnancy, I say "Forever Young" by Bob Dylan to my pregnant belly (it's the song my husband and I danced to with our mom/dad at our wedding, too). Now I sing it every night at bedtime. It calms her right down every time.

Yes, both were listened to a great deal during pregnancy, and still sung/played to her, now.

The Way I Am- Ingrid Michaelson. For some reason it popped into my head when LO was a newborn and the line "I love you more than I could ever promise" struck me and it's been her song since, I sing it every night at bedtime.

Well, DS decided Sia's Chandelier was the JAM at 4 months old and would sway whenever we put it on for him, so that was his "song." He also liked Elastic Heart. Weirdo.

Weird, but we kept hearing Eye of the Tiger the first month after she was born. So it's kinda her song. But her favorite is Zippa de doo dah, which I sing to her every morning. She smiles so big when I come into her room singing, she knows it's time to get up for the day!

D's is Lullaby by Dixie Chicks. I sing it to him every night at bedtime. A Thousand Years by Christina Perri always makes me think of him, too.
A's is Sweet Child of Mine, ha ha. That's her bedtime song. A Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay also makes me think of her.

Whenever I hear "Little Lion Man" from Mumford and Sons, I think of DS1 as I believe it was playing as he was being born.
Poor DS2. He came so quick, I have no idea what was playing at the time. But yay for me!

The first time I felt my daughter move I was singing along to "My baby got sauce" in the car. It sort of became my song for her because it's G Love (and her name was Gigi) and because I'll never forget that.

When I was pregnant and would listen to Bridges and Balloons by Joanna Newsom she would kick like crazy so I always said that was her favorite song. I also would cope with my morning sickness and exhaustion by thinking about making an embroidered cloth book based on the lyrics of the song. It's one of those projects I'll probably never do, but thinking about it still makes me happy.

@youboots: this was playing when we brought LO home and I was about to post that that's his song.

"All of me" by John Legend happened to come on the radio in the delivery room just after my daughter was born by emergency C-section. Until that song came on I hadn't even noticed that the doctors had music playing while they operated, but suddenly I was listening to every word. It seemed the perfect song for this enormous love I was suddenly feeling and I sang it to her while nursing all the time as a baby. I still call it "our song" and dance with her to it any time it comes on Spotify.

Happy Together and Sweet Child of Mine. I love when she just randomly starts singing Happy Together, either directly to me, or when I can hear her through the monitor.

Blue burns orange by Hawthorne Heights. Not necessarily the entire song but the chorus has been my song to DD1 since she was in the womb.
You are my sunshine is for DD2. That baby can light a room like nobody's business. She is so full of radiant joy.

@youboots: the same song!!! K was born the summer that song was popular and since I knew she was a girl I always sang it to her when I was driving! Now I cry like a baby when I hear it...
