I just logged into my Starbucks account and found out I have achieved gold status. Now I feel like I go there too often. Haha.
In my defense, people like to give me Starbucks gift cards since they know I'm cheap and don't want to spend my own money at Starbucks.

Yes! You can even download the Starbucks app if you have a smart phone and they can scan the bar code on your phone.

I have 10 points, so I'm a third of the way there. It took me 2 months to get 10 so it'll be a little while before I get to gold. I registered a card I got for Christmas. I should have registered one sooner.

Oh, yeah! I mainly just go when people give me gift cards, or we'll redeem credit card rewards for them. When I go to Starbucks and don't have any money on my gold card, I try to put a few bucks on it first, then pay for my drink with it, assuming there's no line. The free drinks are great, and you can get any size!
**IMO, the rewards were better before they changed them a few months ago--you used to get free syrups, which was like 50 cents off my vanilla latte every time!

Yes! It's definitely worth it to register and use a card if you go to Starbucks often. It's a free drink (or food item) for every 12 purchases.

@Bao: You collect stars, and you get 1 star for every purchase. For every 12 stars, you get a free drink (any size) or a free pastry. So if you go a lot, then it really adds up! You also get a free drink on your birthday.

@hergreenapples: It was a few months ago, but they changed it to no free syrups, and as consolation you get a free drink every 12 stars instead of every 15. And the free stuff is loaded on your card instead of sent as a coupon by mail.

@tororojo: Weird. Ever since I've had my gold card it's been a free drink every 12 drinks, but it also included free syrup at the beginning. Maybe they hadn't properly updated their info on the app yet when I got gold status, as that's where I get all my info.

@Bao: I think you have to collect 30 stars in one year before you can become Gold. But you can register your gift card online and then you'll be able to start collecting stars!

I have the gold card. Doesn't help that there's one RIGHT downstairs at my work place. Makes getting breakfast, coffee, and afternoon drinks too easy.

Yup, I'm gold. I have a minor addiction to the Salted Caramel Mocha. (Although, it was a seasonal drink, so they no longer carry the salt. It's still good without the salt.)

I'm gold and ashamed to say that the local Starbucks knows my order (which means I go WAY too much). I gave it up for Lent just to prove to myself that I could. Still going strong with no Starbucks at 2 weeks in.

@regberadaisy: I used to get a short bold with steam soy, but now that they charge me for soy, my short coffee is over $2! No bueno. That definitely deterred me from going for awhile.

Collectively, hubs and I achieved Gold status. But now that they charge registered members for soy and syrups, its too expensive. Hubs has probably achieved Gold 3 times over though - he just drinks regular black coffee.
