I have three brothers! One is three years younger than me and we're very close. He will open up to me more than any of my other siblings and I've told him some really private stuff too. We love spending time together and really support each other. We're not afraid to be honest with one another either, I love our relationship. We're in totally different stages of life, but still closely connect.

I have good relationships with my other two brothers as well. Just not as close.

ETA: I do also have two sisters. And yes the relationship is different, but I'm closer to my brother in different ways than I'm closer with my sister. We connect differently, and have different similarities than my sisters and me. But they're still all good relationships.

I have a brother who is 5 years younger. We we close as little kids, and then kind of grew apart when I was a teenager (but that probably had more to do with the age gap then gender), but now we're close again as young adults. We don't like, call each other and chat about day to day events, but we get together once a month or so (and text in between) and we have a really affectionate, funny, open relationship. His Facebook photo is a picture of him and me and my husband together, which I'm always tickled by! We're both really excited for him to be an uncle!

Yes. He's 4.5 years younger. We text every once in awhile and see each other semi-regularly, but we haven't been super close since we were little.

My brother is a year and a half older than me. We fought constantly growing up. He's a hard guy to get along with in general. We're close now because of geography, LOs ages, and because I like my SIL.

DH and I both have opposite sex siblings and both get along great with them. My brother is 5 years younger than me and his sister is about 3.5 years younger than DH.

I have a brother who is 5 years younger. When we were kids he was more of a pest, I just didn't know how to relate to a boy that was so different in age. But our family is all pretty close overall and we do have a good relationship now. There is also a sister between us, she and my brother were closer growing up, they went to the same schools sometimes so had more in common and hung out together more.

I have a brother almost 4 years younger than me. We're not close but we do love each other a lot. Our personalities are just very different! My brother and sister are close though! They're 2 years apart and I think she's more easy going where I was not that kind in HS to my brother.

Yes, he's 8 years younger. He's insanely private and we're not very close. But he also lives in a different continent We email once in awhile and I sometimes share plans and ideas, but it's nothing on a regular basis.

Because we're so far in age, I tend think of him more as a child, than a sibling. As I got older, I used to make it a point to play with him - for instance, I got into pogs because he was into it. I was way too old to play that! My boyfriend growing up used to be his "best friend" and breaking up was like a divorce for my brother. The same happened with my ex-husband. We really wanted to be there for my brother and spent weekends playing something nerdy with him. But when that ended, my brother also lost a family member. It gets to me thinking about it because looking back, it's a lot to consider for a sister and yet I was just a kid myself. I think the age difference was a lot tougher on him (the younger one) than it was on me. Although while growing up, I always thought he had it easy.

I have 3 sisters and am extremely close to each of them. We are TG due in a few days, and while I don't have a preference, I feel like I will be a mix of emotions either way since it is our last - thrilled for a girl so dd has a sister, thrilled for a boy so Dh has that experience and I can raise a son - but at the same time I will be sad that the other option will never come to light. If that makes any sense?? Or maybe I'm just a giant mess of hormones these days lol.

I have a younger brother, almost 3 years younger and growing up we weren't super close but that was mostly because of my parents. He was the baby and the favorite, the 'good' one and I wasn't. We're closer now and have been since moving out after high school.

My brother is two years older than me. We peacefully coexisted until we were in high school. That's when we became best friends. We've learned a lot from each other and have fought and made up countless times. I would be a less loving, less understanding, less confident version of myself without him. Fun fact: he has dated every girl I've considered a best friend since age 12 - great for him, weird for me.

I have one younger brother by 6 years. My mom always worried about us not being close due to gender and age gap. We're incredibly close!!!!! One time we even mentioned wanting to have a third sibling and he said no way! What if they were weird and didn't fit in with us?? Haha. Don't worry at all. I wouldn't change it for anything!! Even though we're in different states now, he's found internships around us and stays with us during those. It's awesome

I have a younger brother (20 months) and we've always been super close. Sure we fought a lot as kids but it's what kept us close. hes one of my best friends and vice versa. We talk regularly and see each for family visits every few months.

Younger brother by 4 years to the T. We're not close at all, but we weren't growing up either. I think the different style of upbringing attributed partly to why we're so distant.

Our relationship was terrible growing up, we fought constantly and never spent any time together. My parents would send us to different grandparents usually so I don't even remember being around him that much. And because of the age difference he left home when I was still young.
Now our relationship isn't terrible, but he lives about 2 provinces away and I only see him once or twice a year.

I have a younger brother... just about 3 years younger. We aren't close BUT I think older son / younger girl you have better odds maturity wise. Basically, by the time I wasn't a bratty preteen he was and we never caught up. He also has a slew of personality disorders (like legit mental health issues) which prohibit a close bond now that we're older.

I have 3 brothers and while we different relationships, I would say that I'm close with all of them. I"m also happy that they all married great women and I consider them all my sisters.

My brother is 14 months younger and we've been close friends for most of our lives. It's great! Even though he's younger when we were growing up he'd clue me into guy stuff- not necessarily romantic stuff but just a male perspective.

My husband is much closer to his sister who is eight years older than he is to his younger brother who is 3 years younger. They just clicked better and really became close once he started college.

I have two brothers. One is 4 years younger, and the other 7 years younger. I am close to my youngest brother, but that's because we are a lot alike.

I have a brother and he is a year and a week younger than me. We're not close. I really think it depends more on the personality than the gender though. He just happens to hate kids, has no filter and a tendency to judge everyone, and manages a strip club, so yeah...not close. We basically see each other for holidays.
