When I met DH 10+ yrs ago his BFF was a lip kisser - had never met one before and it totally threw me off! Now it doesn't phase me anymore but I always wonder how the wife feels - I think it would be weird if DH was kissing everyone on the lips!
DH became friends with another guy in the last 2 years and yep, lip kisser! haha
Do you know anyone that does this? If your DH is one does it bother you?

My step father in law is a lip kisser- it was weird at first.
A guy friend is also a lip kisser- I think its cultural so it does not bother me.
I don't physically greet every person- sometimes I just reach out for a handshake or avoid contact all together

I have an aunt who is (married into family) and after many years I've finally realized that if I just confidently go in for a cheek kiss it is a nice compromise and I don't think leaves either party feeling too put off

My mom is so guilty of this! Ha ha. I thinks it's unintentional. She goes in for a real kiss and most people expect a fake cheek kiss that takes less seconds to complete. By the time they turn their head back she's planted one on them.

We have a friend who kisses me on the cheek, and it took a while for me to get used to it!

Yes! My male (straight) hairdresser is a lip kisser for sure!! So was my aunt! 
I grew up with both of them, so it never bothered me!

My DH has an aunt/uncle couple who are lip kissers. They go in for it every time! Weird.
I'll never forget on my wedding night when we were leaving our reception and saying goodbye--all of our guests were drunk and probably 30 people kissed me on the lips before we left. Haha!

None...it would probably make me a little uneasy.
I do love seeing people I work who are not very well traveled meet our European co-workers for the first time. And watching their reaction when they get the standard European kiss on the cheek...cracks me up...

Nope total opposite.
I was never kissed as a child. It was a cultural thing. Our family "gently sniffs" for affection. No hugs or kisses for greetings

I married a Frenchman and it's the cultural norm to do anywhere from 1-4 cheek kisses, but I don't know anyone who does lip kisses!

Thank goodness I don't know any lip kissers, I wouldn't be able to handle it. I can barely handle my in-laws who handshake while doing double cheek kisses. I'm always trying to go in for a hug and mess it all up!

I never knew this was common! The only time I've heard of it is when my friend's Russian FIL visited and he was a lip kisser. It grossed her out, but she said it's kinda common for the older generation.

No! I'm already trying my best to get over being uncomfortable with hugging (my asian family was not physically affectionate growing up), - like seriously I stiffen up into a poll as someone hugs me, only recently have I learned to lift my arms up and pat them on the back as they hug me.
I would be totally uncomfortable with a kiss on the lip!! I would probably look like I was frozen in carbonate for a few minutes after said kiss, if it happened!

DH's aunt is always trying to kiss me and our kids on the lips. They barely know her and I think they are more scared of her because she's always trying to grab their faces and kiss them.

I have a guy friend who is a lip kisser (I've known him since we were 12) and I never thought anything of it. My husband's eyes about popped out of his head the first time he saw it "um did I just see Andrew kiss you" and I'm like oh my gosh I didn't even think about it, that's his greeting!" HA after my husband saw him do it to everyone he let it go and realized it's not sexual in any way.
I'm a cheek kisser with close family and friends, I grew up in a very affectionate family. Grandmas were lip kissers, aunt was lip kisser, ect. I try to respect people's boundaries, I know who to hug/kiss and who to not

Uh, no, wasn't even aware that was a thing outside of family members! I have quite a few European friends who are cheek kissers, and that already pushes my comfort bubble enough.

@lamariniere: I've definitely had some near misses because of the multi cheek kiss - mix together a bunch of different people, like French, Australians, Americans, Brits, and others all living abroad .....No one knows what to do! People start trying to anticipate how many cheeks others will kiss and you end up with lots of bumped noses and near mouth kisses!

I have gotten better but the cheek kissing used to freak me out too! When I knew someone was gonna do it when I saw them, I'd have to psych myself up and be worried about it before it happened!

@PinkElephant: haha, yes! I feel excessively awkward cheek kissing other Americans in mixed nationality settings, so we do the awkward hug instead. I think the worst are the 3 kiss people since you aren't usually prepared for a 3rd kiss, and then you lean back expecting the 4th, but they are already done.

@hellobeeboston: yep. No one ever "pucker kissed". I was never literally told "I love you". It was always implied through "did you eat yet?" But I'm well adjusted and fine lol. My family just wasn't physically affectionate.

Ewww, yuck, thankfully no. I don't even like to drink from the same cup or straws as other people, not even my family, much less kiss anyone else on the lips! It even took me a while to share drinks with DH (and he's the same way as me) and had to rationalize it that if we can make out, surely we can share drinks. lol

Dh's aunts (by marriage into his family) are lip kissers. They've gotten the point that my cheek is all they get. They kiss dh on the lips though and I've gotten used to it!

No, ugh, yuck, I'm not even a fan of shaking hands (it spreads so many germs!) And really not a fan of cheek kissing (once I can handle, I hate places where it's two - or heaven forbid three - times). Though I understand it's a normal thing in certain cultures so I'm fine with going along with it. But lip kissing - no way!

Haha no, I didn't know people did this with non family members. I'd be taken aback if someone did this to me, but likely not offended or grossed out. I'm a hugger, so physical affection doesn't bother me.
