We don't but if the budget allowed it a mowing service would be awesome! We have a decent sized lot and it takes DH a good half a weekend day to mow, edge and trim!

We don't, but we are seriously considering cleaning ladies every other week once LO #2 arrives and I go back to work!

@regberadaisy: what about hiring a high school kid to mow! Even 20 bucks to do the yard?
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
Kinda, we have free gardening service from FIL.

We have a cleaner come every other week. Does all the deep cleaning. I still clean kitchen and bathrooms and vacuum in between.

Other than the guys who come to spray the weeds in our lawn, nope.

We have a lawn service that comes weekly to mow/trim. Our weekend time is precious!

We have a cleaning person that comes once a month. Would love her to come twice a month, but 1x is all we can pay for for now. It's amazing. DH and I used to always fight about cleaning and we haven't once since she started!

We have a lawn service (our lawn is tiny so it's $20/visit) and a cleaning lady every 2 weeks. Can't imagine life without my cleaning lady!

We hired mowers for the summer and when i go back to work we will hire a cleaning service to come 1-2x a month

We have a lady clean every two weeks. We also had our yard weeded and mulched by a company this year - I'm 8 months pregnant and DH is busy at work right now so we just wouldn't have gotten to it otherwise.

We have a cleaning lady come out twice a month and a gardener come out twice a month. The gardener we have always had...DH is not handy outside.....but the cleaning lady is a new development, when I began my second trimester we got one because I couldn't clean the way I liked to and the cleanliness of the house was becoming a point of argument between me and DH. Paying her solved a lot of issues! And we are both happier!

We have cleaning people every two weeks. We don't use a lawn service because my husband enjoys taking care of the lawn. We have a ride on tractor so the mowing is pretty quick and when he does the trimming and gardening beds LO and I play outside so we're still spending time together. She loves to "help" him with safe things like weeding and raking.

We have a cleaning person every 3 weeks. We also have laundry/dry cleaning picked up and done every other week.

I don't think I ever would. I DIY most things, from taxes to car maintenance, I guess that's just my style.

This summer we hired a neighborhood kid (14) to mow our lawn. We live in a cheap area, and he's a kid, so we only pay him $25 per month and he mows whenever it gets high (so some months he'll need to mow more than others). i have to say, it's been awesome. Neither of us has to worry about it, it just gets done. Once baby gets here I think we may hire a cleaning service to come every couple weeks, but we haven't decided on that one yet.

Just a cleaning service every two weeks. DH and I, mostly him, handle the yard.

Cleaning lady twice a month and we have a landscaper that does the big spring and fall clean ups.

We just moved and haven't officially "hired" a lawn service, but one company does our entire cul de sac, and they've continued to do our lawn.
We're waiting to see how long it lasts (maybe the old owners were still under contract?) but will probably keep paying them because DH doesn't want to do it and I'm allergic to grass.
But there's still a lot of gardening to be done.

Cleaning lady at our apt and our weekend home, they come every 3 -4 weeks. At our weekend home we outsource pretty much all landscaping, since we're not there all the time.

Not anymore. We had a lawn service when I was pregnant and couldn't mow. It was glorious. I'm thinking about hiring a cleaning crew to give my house a good scrubdown at the end of the summer.

We started paying for lawn mowing this summer... He used to do it himself but with a baby we rather save that time to spend together or he can help me out more, since mowing front and back takes him almost 2 hours!

After lo was born we started getting a cleaning person once a month. We just decided to up it to 2x/month

I DREAM of a cleaning lady! We have someone cut the grass/edge/etc. twice a month, but he's a friend, so it's super cheap.

We have a cleaning person every 2 weeks-ish. We also have a dog walker that comes about 4 days a week.

We have a landscaper who comes every other week or more often if necessary. Our lawn area is really small, so it's cheap to have him do it. DH hates doing yard work.
We also have two cleaning ladies come every other week. They do a deep clean of the house, which really helps me keep on top of the cleaning in between visits. DH and I used to argue about cleaning, because he has high standards of cleanliness but would never offer to help clean. The ladies solved our problem.

We have a cleaning lady every 2 weeks. It has made a huge positive impact on our lives.
We're thinking of hiring a lawn service because we really value our time together on the weekends and mowing/trimming/etc. takes a lot of time.

We fired our cleaners a while back and am currently on the hunt for a new cleaning service!

We have a house cleaner that comes every couple weeks. She started a couple months ago because I was sick for awhile and also pregnant. We plan to keep her through the newborn days and then reassess.

Yes we have lawn people and a cleaning lady every two weeks. It's wonderful and we don't spend our weekends doing chores!

We have a cleaning person come when we need it or have been really busy - usually about once a month.

I would love some help with housecleaning, but how does that work? Do you have to pick up the clutter so they can reach surfaces? Basically our house is so cluttered I don't know where a cleaning person would begin
