We are moving into an older home (built in 1958) and I'm pretty sure most of the shelves are already lined. I'm wondering though if I should re line them? I have never lined shelves before.

We had lined shelves, but I pulled the lining off. I'm not a fan, and if I am going to have lined shelves then I want it to be something I picked out.

Yes. The place where we live now was already lined, but where we lived before my IL's came over and helped me line the cabinets. I don't particularly care, but it's important to my MIL, so I go with it.

I always line myself when I move, even in apartments (not the sticky kind). I don't know why, but it makes me feel that it's cleaner than just the wood. I line all shelves and drawers in the kitchen.
It used to be so easy to find anywhere, but when we moved here, I could only find a cheap, rubbery kind that I hate. My mom a,ways uses contact type paper in pretty patterns.

@matador84: we found ours at Target. I think Home Depot or Lowe's also had it. We chose a non-sticky kind so it's easily removed if need be. Our kitchen cabinets are original to the house (1971?) so we definitely wanted to line those as well as the bathroom cabinets.
