Do you get stinkbugs where you live? Ugh, it's the time of year when they are getting into the house and they are driving me nuts. I was getting dressed this morning and got sprayed by a stinkbug hitching a ride on my (then-clean) bra. Yuck!

OMG YES! For the first time ever.
I heard an annoying noise yesterday and then saw this ugly bug next to me on the couch. I freaked out and captured it in a cup (with paper on top) and ran outside with it... my neighbor saw me acting like a lunatic so I had to explain what I was doing. She looked at it and said it was a stinkbug! I told my husband about it and he said he didn't want to tell me but he found FOUR by our door the other day and got rid of them.
So. Very. Gross.
Apparently they only stink if you crush them or something? Ugh. I hope we don't have any more....

@chopsuey119: They're devil bugs, and have only been in the US for a few years. So they're mainly an east coast thing right now.

And nothing kills them (besides flushing them, dropping them into soapy water, or my dog.)
@alie: oh, beware, they'll spray you if they get startled.
@yin: has it started to get chilly where you live? Because that's when they start to get in!

@dagret: Yes, temperatures have been going down. We have lucked out the past 2 years and hope they won't get in this year either.

huh! I don't think so but I don't really know what it is. my first thought was bugs life - so they don't spray like skunks? eeewww!

@dagret: Eek!!! Thankfully I've become an expert at the stealthy, sneak-attack method of slowly and quietly capturing bugs under cups/boxes/bowls/etc. I usually put a heavy book on top and then another cup/bowl/box/etc on top of that and wait for my husband to get home (yes I'm a wuss). Occasionally (like yesterday) I have the guts to slide some paper underneath and carefully carry them out to the street, where hopefully they are then run over by a car.

@yin: good luck - hope they continue to stay out!
@sorrycharlie: you would totally know if you had them.

@alie: we flush 'em. Or if there are a ton, put soapy water in the bottom of a shop vac and suck them up. The surfactant in the soap suffocates them.

I thought this was a funny post about stinky babies or something (we sometimes call LO stinkbug when she needs a diaper change) lol!!
Never heard of them, hoping to never meet them either.

@dagret: I've only seen one so far, so I'm hoping we don't see more, but since my husband apparently saw 4, I'm paranoid there are more lurking somewhere....

Oh God yes. I HATE them!!! They're more invasive than sin, they stink, they're nearly impossible to kill, they buzz really loudly when they fly, and to top it all off they look like flying ticks! I want to kill them all. Every last one.
The front door has water damage, and the stink bugs have been crawling in through the crack. One day I counted twenty in the house. TWENTY! *dies*

Yes but I've never seen one inside, thank goodness! And I've never gotten sprayed by one either.

We get them in our house every spring and fall. We bought a little hand vacuum and use that to suck them up.
Just yesterday I saw one climbing up the bag of chips I was eating! Yuck! I hate them!

Yup - just killed two. Is it weird that I've never smelled them? I don't know if I'm immune to the smell or what. They are super gross though!
