It's Veteran's Day! The banks are closed, but Mr. Bee and I never take off holidays like this... only the big ones like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Luckily our daycare is open too!

Nope. We only get the main 6 holidays a year - Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving, Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day.

I had the day off but not because of Veteran's Day. I'm a teacher and it's the end of the trimester so we always have a teacher work day and a day off. Husband never gets holidays off unless he just so happens to not catch a train that day.

Yup, this province closes just about everything, and since I work in a mall, that means I'm off. Every year I was a teacher, I also got it off.
DH on the other hand, can work today, but when he's home, he chooses not too, preferring to go to a Remembrance day ceremony, bit this year he's out west and is working. Hoping to get double time! -

Yup, I'm off. I work in banking so I get most of the holidays off-Columbus Day and Presidents Day are the only two holidays we are open.

Because its a holiday most schools have off, today is actually one of the busier days in my office. We plan our photoshoots around the kid's school schedule so the models dont have to take off school to come and do the shoot

My work is technically locally government so we always get Veterans Day off. However I was "working" very hard to keep my dogs uncrazy while we had the flooring redone in the basement. I think it may have been harder than an actual day of work!

I worked today and so did my husband. I had to drive him to work though because he went to his bus and the route was closed for the holiday.

Nope, the hospital I work at only gets the 6 main holidays off- Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving, Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day.
Plus, in my department (open 24/7) we have to work one winter holiday (Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving) and one summer holiday (Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day). And to make that even worse- holiday pay is only an extra $3 and hour.

I'm a SAHM, so some may say I have every day off (even though I don't agree). I wouldn't say I had the day off, though, especially since the husband is at work until tomorrow and I'm flying solo.

I was at work all day (one of the busiest days I've had this year.) while DH was at home with the furbabies. (He's a bank manager)...
