My weekend days are the traditional Sat and Sun and DH's are Mon and Tues. It is ok right now for us to solo parent two toddlers for those days but it will be harder when our newborn arrives. I can't wait until we have the same days off but that might take several years!

Yep. The nature of our jobs keep us busy long after our day isoover when we get home. Without Sat and Sun off together we wouldn't be able to spend quality time together.

Nope! He works a 4 day on , 2 day off shift so we only have "normal" weekends together every 6 weeks. It is definitely a big stress in our lives but we have been dealing with it for 6+ years so it is routine for us...not so much for people who can't understand why he can't make events on the weekends.

My husband works six days a week, so he only has Sundays off. It's a family-owned business so I'm hopeful that once the baby is here they will give him a second day off even if it's not Saturday.
We also work opposite shifts (I work 8-4 with a 60-75 minute commute each way and he works 1 to 8, no commute), which on the one hand is good because it will potentially cut way back on the amount of time she has to spend in care, but at the same time the thought of spending our lives like two ships passing in the night stresses me out.

Yes (both have Sat/Sun off). Except for working odd jobs in college, I've actually never had a job that wasn't the standard M-F, now that I think about it!

Nope. From Oct-April he works nights and weekends. I work traditional 8-4:30.
He does daycare drop off, I do pick up. Most nights he's home after I've gone to bed. And I leave while they're still sleeping. -

I work graveyard and have off Tues/Wed and DH is a teacher so weekends off for the most part (he's a coach as well, so some weekends are busy) -
No. I have a traditional 9-5 M-F job. His schedule is all over the place, but he usually works Saturday evenings, sometimes works Sunday afternoons, and generally has Mondays free. It's usually fine but I'd really love to be able to take a weekend trip here and there. Oh well.

Yes, and I'm very happy about it. The weekends go by so fast so I'm glad we have 2 days to spend as a family.

I have the traditional S S off DH has every other weekend off so yes twice a month we do.
AS of right now I am a SAHM so we also get 2 days during the week -
Yes, I do now! We had different weekends for about a year and a half (I worked Saturday and Sunday) so I'm grateful to have the same now. One of the many reasons I switched jobs about six months ago.

Nope, and now that I'm in healthcare - probably never will! Hopefully I can continue, as I am now, working rotating weekends. Right now I'm e/o weekend, but then I'm in school FT during the week too...

Nope! I work a traditional M-F office job but he works a retail job where 1 week he opens, 1 week he closes, and has rotational days off. We don't get to see each other a whole lot but it lets him spend a lot of good quality time with DD.

One weekend out of 4 I'm on my own and DH has different days off to compensate. He never understands my frustration because he sends LO to daycare on his days off while I solo parent on my only 2 days off. I started leaving a honey do list for the days he spends home toddlerless

Mine are traditional and his are Wednesday Thursday, it's great for child care, sucks for family time. I desperatly want us to have weekends together.
