Our daycare just switched to a new iPad Kinderlime system and every parent has a pin code that we use for signing our LOs in and out for the day. They had daily sign in sheets before that.

Yes, it's a touchscreen system with a place to scan our fingerprints. It's very interesting.

This is amazing.. our day care is still low tech, paper and pencil sign in/out.

Pen and paper, but one place I toured had the fingerprint scanner thing.

Yes, a PIN code on a touch screen . Parents had a fit when it first started. I figure it's just another measure to keep my kiddo safe, so I'm all for it.

Nope. She's usually still sleeping in her stroller outside when I get her. I take her inside to change her out of her sleeping clothes and have her wave bye to her teachers before we go home.

We have to enter a code to get in and out of the building. So we use that for in and out. If I were to stop by to drop something off, they buzz me in.
Our new center, start next month, has key fobs instead of a key pad.

Like @Smurfette: we have to enter a personal code to get into the building, but we don't sign anything. I like the idea though!

We have to swipe to get in and out of the building with a key card, which records who is in and out, but we also have to sign in/out on a computer with our personal pin. You sign in, click on your kid's picture and it records to the minute the sign in and out times and tells you if you are signed in or out.

We enter a code to get into the building, and we sign her in/out on a paper sheet.

Enter a code to get into the center and then sign in and out on paper.

Nope because he's in a in-home montessori. When we toured other facilities, they either had the ipad pin code or the key pad on the door where you typed your code in to get inside.

Nope - she only watches two kids that aren't her own
I love that idea for centers though!

We use a touch screen with our finger prints as well as a sign in sheet at the room. I don't see why the sign in sheet is necessary if you use the touch screen but that's just me.

Yep, there's a fingerprint scan pad to check in your kids. It also is what unlocks the door for you to get in. Their old daycare had a notebook that you had to sign in and out each day. My signature would get worse looking every day on that book, haha!

We have keyfobs to get in and out, and we also have both a touch computer screen with pins, and a paper sign in/out form. Not sure why we need both.

No, but we use a family daycare and the only person who deals with pick up and drop-off is the owner, she never has her assistants doing it.
The iPad system sounds amazing. I hope we have something like that where we send her next.

We have to ring the doorbell to get into the building, and then we punch in and out on a timesheet, like you see factory workers doing in movies.

Yup there is an iPad at the entrance and we have to sign in and out. They use Tadpoles software.
Then there is a palm print reader to enter the building.

Nope. We just hand him over to one of his teachers. They then sign him in but it is not me doing that. They also have a picture wall where the kids turn their pic over. So there you can see which kids are there that day.
We can only enter the concurs with a PIN code though. Same for all parents though.

We have a fingerprint scanner to unlock the door, that also then logs him in and out.

@autumnlove: that's pretty neat!
Our front door is pass coded and each child has his/her own pass code.

They have code access to get into the building and sign in sheets once you're inside. At her old daycare, they gave you a card at the front office and you couldn't take her out of the room until you gave the teacher the card.

Nope. No code to get in and just the teacher starts her daily sheet when she gets there. They also put her name in a notebook. Time in, time out.

We have a thumbprint scanner to get in the door. Once it scans your finger it asks to to confirm if you are checking your child in/out or just accessing the building.
