I usually don't need to work on holidays.. DH has to request to work but all of his coworkers with more seniority snag the shifts for the time and a half pay!

As a SAHM mom, technically, no, but since DS and DH are usually home on holidays, it's more like a YES, lol.
But, I don't get called in to temp on holidays, cause my office is closed.

Nope! Luckily get all holidays off. If we do work we just get paid comp time not time and a half.

I get the following holidays off:
New Year's Day
Memorial Day
Indepedence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Day after Thanksgiving
Christmas Day
Plus 3 floating holidays that I can use like vacation days. All other holidays, I'm scheduled to work.

@Smurfette: We used to get those too, but then they decided to just do the floating holidays instead. I'll most likely be using them for around Christmas!

Depends on the holiday. I get off:
MLK Day
Sometimes Memorial Day
July 4th unless it's a weekend
2 days for Thanksgiving
5-7 days for Xmas + New Year's
1-2 days for spring break
I work at a University, so they are very generous with some holidays (helloo week off at the end of the year!) but we don't get off Labor Day, Good Friday, anything like that.

I don't have to because the office will be closed. But since I'm a contractor I can choose to work at home and still get paid. I was considering doing that for the weekend of the 4th since we're closed the 5th too, but I think I need a break more!

Fortunately, no! I work when the stock market is open so I tend to get an extra "holiday" or two than normal. Definitely don't mind at all!!
