I used to, but it got annoying since the iPhone sorts by last name. So I could never find the phone numbers of my closest friends, who I think of just by their first name.
So I removed Bee's last name, so I can find her under B for Bee. Best thing ever.
Do you input the last name of close friends in your iPhone contacts list?

Yes, I do! My parents aren't listed as mom and dad either, but by their first and last name.

the iPhone can sort by first name too! I do usually still put first and last names though.

You can sort my first name, that's how I have mine! I only input last names if I have more than one friend with the same first name or if I'm not particularly close to them and need their last name to help remind me which Sara it is.

Yep, they're all picked up from my Gmail contacts so, it has their first and last names.

No but I do have DH in as first name and initial of last name... It's from before we were dating and even when I buy new phones I'm too superstitious to change it over to just first name. He thinks I'm nuts

Yes! I have full names for everyone EXCEPT for random people whose names I know I won't remember, but whose numbers I want to keep... for example, the guy who did our drywall is saved as "Mike Drywall Guy".... last name Drywall Guy... since I know that's what I"ll search for!

yep, everyone has a first and last name, even DH. i hate when i don't know someone's last name. it messes up my contacts!

Yes, first and last! I just got a new Android phone, and somehow I ended up having 3 or 4 separate listings for some people, because it pulls from google, yahoo, facebook AND my old phone contacts! It took me a while to delete and/or merge some contacts, argh.

I only have first names in my phone, unless two people have the same name. In that case, I'll put in the last name for the second person with that name but I don't add the last name to the first. So like I'd have a Jane and then a Jane Smith. I've just always done it like that, since my first phone!
