Not personally. Most families I know are 2 kids and both parents WOH.

@T.H.O.U.: DH says his mom was constantly run ragged trying to get all of them (4 kids plus 2 stepkids briefly) to their activities. They all played sports and things. It's actually a big part of why he doesn't want a ton of kids.

My best friend has 4 kids, the oldest is 5 and the youngest is about to be 2! They go to an in home daycare. The oldest goes to school now, though.

Me now. With the twins that makes 3 kids and we both WOH. They'll all go to daycare and it's going to put a financial strain on us for awhile but nannies are even more expensive. My work can be flexible when necessary and I work from home on Fridays but it's primarily an 8-5 job.

Raising my hand! More than full time job and 3 children under age 5. Sometimes I feel like a bad-ass and sometimes I feel like the wheels could come off at any moment. We're holding it together over here, but I could have done with a bit more maternity leave!

I have a coworker with twins in preschool and a third LO. Her husband is SAH dad. I have other coworkers with three school age kids but most of them were SAH when the kids were younger.

My cousin does, though her kids are all older now and in grade school. They were in day care before that.
I know one other who has 4 kids. One 6 year old and she just had triplets in Jan. She went back to work a few weeks ago. Both she and her hubby are surgeons though and have family help and nannies, I believe.
I'm about to be a mom of 2 and I'm a WOHM. We plan to have 3-4 kids, and I will still be WOH. Thank goodness for my mom who provides grandma-care.

Yup! She has 3 under 4 and a ton of dogs. She works 12+ hr days and commutes an hour each way to work. Husband is a SAHD, working odd jobs here and there and her mother/MIL helped watch the kids a few days a week. She has the type of job where they can afford a single parent income and still be comfortable.

Yes, LOTS of them. My mom worked 50+ hours a week while raising 4 kids, and her mom did too. In fact, most of the moms I know with 3+ kids have full-time jobs.

Yep! Two cousins both have three kids(one Has triplets) and both parents work full time.

@teawithpaloma: Kinda both. They have pretty good jobs but they also don't really save for retirement or any college funds. They spend a lot of money on conveniences because they just don't have time to do the money saving route.

@Mrs. Jacks: I forgot about you Mrs. Jacks! Superhero status but still so hard with a tiny infant at home. If I remember correctly you are going to take some more leave later correct?

@marionberry: And you have to remember the financial strain is only temporary! Kudos to you!

A friend had twins and then a singleton 15 months later and continued to work FT, but her mom was providing care for the boys.

@teawithpaloma: right now I'm at home (but working) any day I'm not on service. When I'm on service, Mr. Jacks stays home. But I've had a bit of mission creep so I've been going in to the hospital for all my meetings and just bringing baby Theo with me. He's also helped me teach my first year med students a few times.
In July I plan to take three weeks completely off and then in August I'll get another week. I don't think I'll even know what to do with myself!
We had a nanny until last year and she was a completely trusted person to us-- beloved by the girls... And then for whatever reason she completely imploded. It shook my faith in nannies. So we're going to try and have all three at the Montessori school. Every once in awhile, the Montessori school will take one classroom baby. We have applied to see if Theo can be that baby. We trust the teachers deeply and have had a child in that classroom since 2011. And we would likely get a discount for having three kids in the same program. I can't take my daughters out of school, so this makes more sense than getting a nanny for one child and school for the other two. We'd pay a lot more with that kind of double coverage.
If Theo doesn't make the cut at Montessori, my hospital offers very flexible daycare. It's just in the opposite direction of the girls' school.
Now that I've written a novel, I'll stop!

I thought about and realized my mom did it! Three kids and worked full time, but we were spaced out.
I also have a friend who just had her 4th. She does the same thing I do and her husband is a principal.

My sister! She has 4 kids, ages: 9, 7, 4, 2 and works 32hrs\week. They are extremely blessed to have her husband's aunt watch the kids 3\week and my mom does it another day. My sister has one day off a week.
They have never paid a babysitter\daycare in 10years!!

@Mrs. Jacks: I sincerely appreciate your novel! I could seriously ask a gazillion question of each family and how they make it all work so I appreciate the detail. I hope Theo gets into school with the girls and that your break is AMAZING! We had a babysitter implosion too so I know how difficult that can all be.
Also, my daughter has been on so many "calls" with me while eating a snack in the background. I just pretend/project that is what my clients love about me!

@mamabolt: Grandmacare for the win. My mom stayed home while we were little but has been working from when we were in middle school or so till present. She's only 50 though so nowhere near retiring.

@teawithpaloma: ha ha - no, not at all! But now that I'm a mom I'll give her some credit. She and I are not what I would call close, but now that I'm a mom I do have a bigger appreciation for her.
And I have to say she is an awesome grandmother!

Yes! A close friend. Her two oldest (twins) are in a local pre-school and her baby is home with a nanny. They live in a tiny apartment (3 BR/1200 sq ft) for a family of 5 and are waiting until their older kids are in kindergarten before they buy a house so they have super cheap mortgage while blowing all their money on childcare.

@JoJoGirl: That's sort of what we are doing. We're in a spacious 2 bedroom apartment with a very manageable payment and would like to move when we're almost done with daycare costs or are down to only one payment.
