I wish I did so I can make some chevron curtains so my poor LO finally has curtains in his room!

Nope but I am getting my grandmas sewing machine when we move into our house and I'm going to learn!

I can sew alright... my mom does cross stitch and quilting and taught me some of what she knows. It's one of those skills I would like to improve.

I sewed for years when I was a kid through junior high and I recently picked it up again. I love it! Its so relaxing to me. I think you could definitely learn without too much trouble!

@zippylef: i have read that on their blog. here is what i am confused about...how did she get holes in the curtains for rings? did i miss that part?

@zippylef: The thing is I would have to actually either find the right fabric or cut our the shapes myself and sew together because I want thick chevron, like a few inches thick.
@matador84: For grommets? There are kits to make them.

I bought a sewing machine a few months ago.. I can "use" it but if I need to change the spools or something jams I am SOL

Yes but I told my husband I don't know how to do buttons bc I hate doing them. He's the button sewer in our family.

@zippylef: Yeah one blog said to paint. I just worry that maybe they won't be able to be washed as easily.

I can do basics like a hem or button. I never got the hang of the sewing machine though, the material used to run away with me and my Mum ended up making all my high school sewing projects!

I learned how when I was pregnant with DS. I love it but I haven't had much time to do it since he was born.
