We do but never use it, I don't even know the # haha. We got it in case of emergency if a storm knocked out cell towers or something.

My sister. She called me the other day and I forgot that I had her home phone # stored in my phone, so all I saw was her name on my caller ID on my cell. She mentioned her cell phone was dead and I said..."What the heck are you calling me on?"
Lol I forget about land lines.

My parents and MIL. My sister has magic jack, so I don't know if that counts as an landline?

We do - a hard landline (not digital) after the hurricane last year knocked out our power and we weren't able to use our cell phones.

We have one! I don't know what the number is though -we've never used it!
My parents and in-laws both do. My dad doesn't even have a cell phone! INSANITY!

We do, it was cheaper to bundle it with our cable and internet then just do without it.

We do! We get shoddy cell service in our house so we got a land line in case of emergency.

We have one b/c our bundle of services was the same price with or without it. Plus, my old cell service was awful in our house. However, I really only use it to call my parents. In fact, I think they are the only people who actually know our number

We have one, it's bundled. Our nanny is almost the only person to use it.

ILs, grandma, and one aunt...but I think that is all. Oh no, one set of friends do, cause she works from home, so needs to be able to hook up a fax.
pomegranate / 3895 posts
My parents do for their security system.
Whenever they talk about canceling it my husband always says "then how will all of the telemarketers get in touch with you?"
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
We do bc of our alarm and fax. Yes, we still use the fax machine. LOL

We have one, it's bundled with our internet and cable.
I actually would have one regardless, there have been too many situations where the cell phone signals aren't working or the towers are jammed etc.

We have Ooma (a VoIP system), so not an actual landline in case the power goes out.
pomegranate / 3414 posts
We do because we used to have DSL, however we kept it when we switched to cable internet. It comforts me that anyone watching our kids will have the ability to call us or 911 without having to worry about battery or cell reception. The majority of my family members still do.

Pretty much everyone in our families (including us) have a land line except for my younger brother.
cherry / 159 posts
My mom does and so do we. It makes international calls to each other much cheaper

IRL, I know a handful of people with landlines, most of them are over 45 though.
We sure don't. We might cave and get one when our kids get a little older but we're not sure yet.

I do, I'd get rid of it, but I don't want doctors, insurance, pharmacists, those kind of people calling my cell.lol
grapefruit / 4085 posts
We have one for emergencies. My cell didn't work in the house for a few days due to a tower issue and since I'm alone with M during the day, I wasn't comfortable without. But I don't even know the number offhand!
pomelo / 5220 posts
We do, but only cause it SAVES us $8 a month through our cable provider to keep it -- Hmm I wonder if they sell that number
My parents do, mostly cause their house is rural and cell phones are kind of hit or miss out there.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
my In laws...they have to though, they live in a valley and get no cell service!
