My mom went to acupuncture school when she was 52. She put her dreams on hOld to support our family while my dad went to med school (he was 44 when he graduated) and to raise us.
I took a leave of absence from law schOol and might go back one day.. We'll see.

My MIL went back to school and is actually just finishing her thesis this year! She and my FIL got married young, had 3 kids and she was a SAHM. They got divorced but she remarried almost immediately and her newer husband had 2 children as well. She raised all 5 of them together and then after quite a gap of time she and DH's stepdad had a son (he was a surprise). Once he started school she went back to college. She played on the college soccer team and was super involved in the private college that she went to. She's been teaching for 4 years now and finishing up her masters at the same time.

My dad went to med school in his early 40s!! He already had a phd, but apparently that wasn't enough for him... Too bad I never got his determination and smarts, haha!

My dad did. He was in sales and went back to get his teaching degree after he'd turned fifty. We were so proud of him! Now he makes less than half of what he did before he got his degree, but he loves teaching and the kids love him, so I still think it was a great choice. My mom is doing an online college program right know, so I guess he inspired her too:)
