We try to load the dishwasher but sometimes it's full and sometimes we don't get to doing the pans and knives by hand. They are rinsed before we go to bed but we have been known to leave a few overnight.

We leave a few overnight. After doing bottle cleanup, making new bottles, packing lunches, I'm wiped out! They can wait.

Not really...it's one of my weird things, I hate leaving dishes in the sink because I'm afraid it will attract bugs!

DH works 2nd shift and does the dishes. So he does them in the morning. So they sit every night.

This was one of my new year resolutions! We have an open kitchen so a pile of dishes in the sink is a visual reminder of yet another chore, and I also love waking up in the morning to a clean sink! I'm also concerned about bugs and smell. We'll see how long it lasts.

@betsyboop: I agree. I love a clean kitchen and I do worry about smell and bugs but sometimes we are just so tired.
We have been getting a lot better and if we do leave dishes out they are rinsed and set neatly on the counter next to the sink. My biggest pet peeve is dishes thrown in the sink! I don't care if they aren't washed right away, but I still need access to my sink!

Yep! I do rinse them, but I have no qualms about leaving a few in the sink. I would rather get a little extra sleep than stress about a few dishes that nobody will ever see but me.

I do the dishes once every 24 hours, usually right after dinner. after that they sit until the next day

Yup! I'm notorious for leaving breakfast dishes. I always rinse them to prevent things sticking on them and leave a bit of water to prevent any "run offs" from sticking (e.g. milk in a cup).

Yes sometimes. i try not to but somtimes I just get tired, since we wash everything by hand

I did this morning. I didn't want to, but baby's wake up was weird. We have the cleaning people coming today, so they'll clean out the sink.

Never! To be honest, I got into this habit from living in NYC where dirty dishes left out could attract roaches. So gross! I did everything in my power to prevent that nastiness. Now we're in the suburbs and I'm still in the habit.
