I do end up letting the dishes pile up a bit because I prefer cleaning in the evening. It'd be so much easier if I dealt with them as soon as I'm done though.

@BoogieBea: I try to deal with them right away... it really helps prevent the bits of food from bonding to the plate on a subatomic level!

I put my dishes right in the dishwasher. However, DH does not do this, so once it starts, I just keep going out of frustration and then they pile up

Yep. Used to drive DH crazy since he's the type to wash right away. haha.

I do not let them pile up, but I don't do them right away either.

Yeah, because I really only have a chance to do them at night.

We rinse them and let them pile up in the sink. Every time I load the dishwasher I say it'll never happen again, and then it does.

@mrbee: I do soak them so that it's easier to rinse later.

Yup, but mostly because LO won't let me stand and do dishes multiple times a day. It's easier to just do everything in the evening.

Nope, can't do it. It's one of my OCD tendencies, everything is either washed straight away or put in the dishwasher. I even wake up in the middle of the night and will put them in the dishwasher if dh has left any. It's absurd.

Sometimes... Depends on the day! I keep the dishwasher loaded but right now the sink has dirty dishes that can't go in the dishwasher and need to be washer by hand. I hate washing dishes by hand. Hoping DH will do them tomorrow haha

@StbHisMrs: that's how I am at the end of the day. I can't leave dirty dishes sitting around til the morning. I'll hand wash if I have to.
@Mrs. Pen: I hate hand washing too because I don't like wearing gloves, so my hands get so dry.

Yes, I think it's more efficient to do them all at once. I leave them soaking so everything's easy to clean.

Nope! I either put them right in the dishwasher or I hand wash them. I can't stand dishes in the sink!

I'm pretty bad about this. We end up with dishes in the sink for a few days sometimes.

Yup but its only breakfast dishes if I have breakfast at home and some tupperware from lunch then dinner plates. I always soak everything if I don't wash it immediately to prevent food from sticking on there.

Not really. I cook breakfast and lunch and dinner for me and my husband so if I let all that pile up I'd have no room by dinner time.

Dishes, no. I put them into the dishwasher and I am trying really hard to teach DH to do the same. Pots & pans I usually let pile up out of sheer laziness, until I have to use them again and then I have to wash them to be able to cook and it makes me mad haha

I try not to but I sometimes do. I always soak my dishes in soapy water though. Makes me feel less lazy. Like I have to let them soak which is why I'm not doing them right now.

I'm so anal about things lying around - clutter, dishes, etc. I clean up as I go, DH leaves things to pile..

I try to clean as I go, but if I'm busy or we're leaving the house for something, they often get left for that evening's clean up time

Wash right away, or really soon after. NEVER the next day. I am a clean freak, and my kitchen is freak-out spot number 1. I'd have to be really, desperately ill to let it go. And at that point my husband would just do it all, because he knows that I need a clean house to be comfortable and happy.
