We frequent our neighborhood playground several times a week and most of the kids that are "regulars" like to climb the slides, including my oldest. We are teaching her that she can't do it if other children are waiting to come down, but since there usually aren't at our playground, it's normally fine.

This weekend, we were playing with some non-regulars at that playground and the mom would not let her son climb the slide and told him "he knew the rules." Then yesterday, when I picked up LO1 at school, they were out at their playground and I heard the teacher tell one of the kids they couldn't climb the slide. (Which I understand in that case because there are always 15+ kids out there with 1-2 teachers, but at our playground no one was playing on the slide.)

Do you let your LO climb up the slide and, if not, why?
