I used to be a crazy dog lover. My cream pomeranian was my baby and I loved him more than I loved most people.
After having my LO, I tolerate animals, but the love is gone!
It's sad.

I never grew up with pets so didn't have a fondness for them but I do like dogs, in general! I like them a lot less since LO is afraid of animals. We walked by a pet store and I brought her stroller up to the bunnies and she FREAKED OUT! Screaming and crying!

Kinda, our dogs were our babies, now they are just dogs. Sometimes they are just messy hairy drool machines!!

I hated our cat with a passion after I had ds... Partly because he peed and pooped on our bed while I was in the hospital giving birth... I gave him away 5 days later.

Nope! I still love them all, and can't wait until LO can interact with them too!

I really hope this doesn't happen to me!! It would make me very sad to know that my dog isn't loved nearly as much...

Our friends told us that they loved their dog so much before their baby came, and now he's just basically a nuisance. I really hope this isn't the case for us, because our dog is wonderful. We rescued her and I don't want her to ever feel neglected or unloved or merely "tolerated."

I still love our pooches! I can't imagine ever getting rid of them just because they do their business in the house. I may joke about it but could never do it. I may not love them as much as I did before and they certainly don't get as much attention anymore. Poor pooches. They're at a dog sitter this week and are probably loving life.

I started to not be a fan of our 2 cats towards the end of pregnancy. I barely interact with them anymore, it's kind of sad. I have major guilt over this. I grew up with cats and have always loved them, but I'm kind of "meh" over them now.
I'm also allergic to their cat litter--we've tried a bunch of different brands and nothing is working, even the "natural" stuff. One of my cats tried to take a swipe at LO. I would honestly love to give the problem child cat away and just have one, but DH won't have it.

I don't think will happen to me. I love love any children we have, but I have the biggest heart for my pets. They were my babies first, and they deserve love and attention too.

I also hope this doesn't happen to me. I love my dog, and hope LO eventually will, too!

@chopsuey119: I'm ashamed to say that my tolerance for my pup is a lot lower now than it used to be. I still love her but it's definitely not in the same way. I would never ever give her up (unless she hurt M) but it's just not the same now. M is #1 and always will be higher up on the priority list than the pup.
I think it will be a lot better when M is a lot older and I don't have to be as afraid of the pup unintentionally hurting her.
