I got called for jury duty 2 years ago and was selected to become an official juror. It was so interesting (attempted murder case) and would love to do it again!
Do you like being called to jury duty?

I've never been called but I always thought it would be interesting if it was for a bigger crime.

I've only been called once, right after I turned 18, but I was taking college classes, so I didn't have to do it.
I've always been really curious about jury duty though. It sounds like it could be interesting.

I hate it! I've gotten out of it many many times because of school. Now I have my LO, so she's my excuse!

I've never been called! I kind of wish I had the opportunity just to say that I did!

@rubies: You've never been called? Wow. I've been called every year for like the past 8 years! Sometimes it's really inconvenient but i always secretly hope they select me because it kind of feels like a competition with other jurors. lol

Every time I say that I'm a pediatrician, they dismiss me. I surprised they even call me anymore!

@mrs.jacks: Really? I wonder why they dismiss you for being a pediatrician?

Omg I got called the first week I was eligible. When I got to the jury pool selection room, I was the only minority AND the only person under the age of 40 (I was 18). Of course I got picked for a very stupid case where this guy was very obviously guilty (he got caught with weed in his car) but there wasn't enough evidence so we had to let him go. The second time I got called was exactly 3 years later when I was eligible again... once again, I arrived and was the only minority and the only one under the age of 40. I not only got chosen but was the jury foreman too. That one was slightly more interesting-- lover's quarrel where the guy supposedly attempted to murder his ex girlfriend. The interesting thing was that the plaintiff and defendant were both young, attractive, well dressed african american people, but the guy's current girlfriend was an old, shriveled caucasian woman with long, stringy gray hair. He straight up looked like Tyson Beckford, face AND body. VERY weird.

@banana: I can only guess that it's because we're seen as "pro-kids" and therefore as having an agenda? Not really sure.

I've been called once, but I lived far away at college. I hope I never get called again.

I've never been called. I would like to be. I think it would be an interesting experience.

I have never been called, but I would do it in a heartbeat. I actually get my pay topped up to full pay by the hospital if I get chosen, so there wouldn't be any downside really.

@banana: Is it completely random? Everyone in my family has been called....Hmmm. The hubs has never been called, either?

I've been called about 5 times, been on a jury once (assault and battery with intent to kill). It was super inconvenient, but also kind of interesting. I also just got called for federal jury duty - three weeks worth! Ugh.

I love jury duty! When I was working, I got full pay while I served too so I sort of saw it like a paid vacation from work I got put on a case between two brothers fighting over money. Sad, right? They were old too... In their 70's/80's and had been in business together since they were young. Anyway, I was an alternate juror and found the case really interesting. Serving jury duty also made me appreciate even more what my hubby does for a living (he's an attorney) because I'm not really exposed to what he does day to day. Ever since that experience, i told hubby I'd love to be a "professional juror" if there were such a thing!

I've been called twice. Most recently, my OB signed me off from it. I would like to be a part of a jury though given the chance.

@banana: I've been called once, and the defendant fled so they didn't need us. lol My mom has said that once they learn you've served once, you're more likely to be put on one again. Don't know if it's true though.

I've never been called for duty and know that the chances I would actually be seated are slim to none.
