I personally am not a fan of huge oversized flowers on babies. But that's a personal choice. The biggest I'd go is something like this :

I like the one you posted, but ones larger than that aren't really my style.

I've only done it once, it just doesn't work for her face. She looks cute with little ones though.
persimmon / 1341 posts
No! I don't like the crocheted headbands or the big flowers tha look like they're going to eat the poor baby's head they're so big. I think part of it is that my daughter has TONS of hair and they just don't look right on her.
GOLD / pomelo / 5167 posts
@prettylizy: Even if it looked good on her, I wouldn't do it. There's just something about it that creeps me out. haha. I know i'm weird.
honeydew / 7488 posts
Not my style at all... We go for more understand but I do think it's cute on some babies..
eggplant / 11824 posts
No, I think they look silly and dated. I think they are the puffy shoulder-pads and crimped hair of the 00's. Also, some of them look like wee satellite dishes on bebe's head.
persimmon / 1180 posts
I'm so glad I have a boy so I don't have to worry about this, but either way I don't like them. Small ones are cute. Ones that look like satellite dishes are not cute.

@yoursilverlining: haha shoulder pads! i'm sure they will make a comeback soon!
pineapple / 12234 posts
I love them all! But I have to admit, there are 3 that I've bought that are just too giant to wear. One doesn't fit properly because it's the size of a plate...it may be dated, but so are the dresses that my mom put me in as a baby, haha.

But DD usually wears small flowers or bows daily, nothing huge. We do bigger ones for special occasions and just to take photos. She has this set that goes with most of her clothes...

Ugh, another thing I HATE! Those huge bows that attach to crochet headbands are so ridiculous. I think this is a Southern thing, too. Southerners just have the weirdest baby style taste, to me.
I do think the small bows/flowers are cute, though.
ETA: here's the Etsy link to that bow: http://www.etsy.com/listing/103409046/baby-headbands-baby-girl-headband-over

I think the smaller, lacy ones are cute, but big ones aren't really my thing.
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
@allison: Looks like that bow is trying to eat that baby!

My DD can barely keep a bobby pin in her hair much less a huge headband (which IMO are tres tacky).

@Mrs. Sunglasses: just to add, I love her headband! She is such a gorgeous baby.
GOLD / pomelo / 5167 posts
@HLK208: those are pretty! I love love love the etsy seller i got that headband from.

Lainey's grandma got her this one, which I think is cute but probably wouldn't buy

My faves are this little bows from Emma Jean on Amazon. They remind me of my old cheerleading bows!
honeydew / 7687 posts
Sometimes I think they're cute but they usually look so uncomfortable! I'm all for comfort over looks.
bananas / 9227 posts
@allison: That's so huge that I actually find it cute! DH would kill me though, he thinks I abuse her when I put a teeny tiny bow in her hair.
But I'm normally not a fan of big ones.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@allison: I agree! Another thing are those dresses that look like they are made from a pillow case and are smocked. I am praying my MIL or SIL don't buy any of those for baby girl
Not a fan of the big bows at all. Little ones are cute. But when it is half or bigger then her head, I have an issue with.

@Mrs. Sunglasses: adorable!!
The giant flowers aren't my style but to each their own! Many babies look ridiculously cute in them.
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
@HLK208: I love the little tulle ones! Did you get those on etsy? The one with the button is the sweetest thing ever!!!
I don't like humongous bows or flowers, or the big wide headbands..I like the skinny band and small flowers/bows similar to what @HLK208 posted:)
And I'm Southern and I'll vouch for the fact that they love them some huge bows/flowers/headbands! I got a couple of crazy ones as gifts!
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
Nope. I bought some teeny headbands for M thinking I would like them if they were smaller and I was wrong. I hate headbands on babies. @mrs. sunglasses - this is the exception. I do love that headband on her!!!
GOLD / pomelo / 5167 posts
@Smurfette: I love smocked dresses but not oversized ones. Sienna has had a few. I'm sure you'd like them. This is Ralph Lauren. I didn't buy it. It was my nieces and honestly I'm not even sure she wore it
coconut / 8498 posts
Not my style, and I am a southerner :). I think smaller ones look okay on other babies.
GOLD / pomelo / 5167 posts
@mediagirl: I think it can also depend on the baby. You know who some adults look ridiculous in hats I feel the same with headband with babies. Sometimes it just doesn't work.
Also in an headbanding because sienna has so little hair but soon enough ill be putting clips
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Mrs. Sunglasses: That was isn't bad at all.
This is more of what I was talking about

Then I really don't like the boys outfits

GOLD / pomelo / 5167 posts
@Smurfette: ya that's what I thought you meant. Sienna has a purple one clearly she hasn't worn yet because its winter. But in not sure how I feel about it yet.

"It is our ability to accessorize that separates us from the animals!" (Steel Magnolias)
The only reason I prefer baby hair accessories on the smaller side (at least small enough that it doesn't look like it is in orbit around the LO's head) is that I think the larger accessories take away from the baby's face. And I want to see the baby's beautiful little face!
pineapple / 12234 posts
@PrincessBaby: yes! I don't think I've gone a week without buying a headband or clip on etsy since DD has been born haha. The shop is called 3 Lovelies Bowtique.
