I'm planning on starting our cloth diaper stash soon, and I'm trying to narrow down what I want to get. I have some Thirsties covers already, and I'm debating whether I want to get some Flips too. If you used both, what did you like better? And since Flips are one sized, are those better once LO is past 10 pounds?
Also, I'm wondering if you like the Flip inserts? I'm not sure if I want to use those, or tri-folded GMD prefolds.

I have Thirsties diapers and I hate the velcro. It doesn't hold up at all (comes unstitched).
I do love the Thirsties double leg gusset but my flip has always fit her pretty well (6 months up).
I think if I were doing covers and had to pick, I would choose a flip with snaps. I also LOVE my organic flip flat. I dont' care for BG microfiber though.

I only have Flips, but I really like the two I have! I use flour sack towels or trifold prefolds.

The flips work great with trifolded prefolds, better than the thirsties, but I found them too wide on LO until she was closer to 12-13lbs.

@Anutka: What size Thirsties did you use? I have some size 1's, and a size small. I assumed the 1's would fit right away, but maybe not?

I used the thirsties xsmall with snaps for the first couple months, then switched to flips when LO outgrew the thirsties. I used flip inserts at first, but they always leaked so I switched to trifold prefolds and haven't had issues since.

I can get a trimmer fit with our Flips. I am not a fan of our thirsties at all. And as I typed this, I think it dawned on me after 22 months of CDing the meaning behind Thirsties name. Haha.

I really prefer Thirsties mainly because they have held up better for me than Flips. After just a few months the elastic on my flips relaxed really bad, so I don't trust them as much any more. The double gussets on Thirsties are great!

@MrsCB: I have size 1, but I had a big baby (9lb14oz at birth), so we retired them pretty quickly. They did fit well, I would use them over prefolds put on with snappis.
The flips I love now that she is bigger to just stick a trifold in, much quicker and they have the flaps of fabric at the front and back so it stays in better while you wrestle your rolling/crawling baby....

We use Flips as daytime diapers for our twins and have been very happy with them. I did have an issue right after purchase where some stitching came undone, but Cotton Babies has a fantastic all inclusive 1 year warranty and replaced the few items with issues and even paid my shipping. Ours have been in heavy rotation and washed daily (we have 4 daypacks for 2 kids) and have held up well so far. We use the stay dry inserts and I like that they aren't really much thicker than a disposable, so they stay nice and trim. It's less fabric in the washing machine too, which was a factor in our house, with two in diapers. We don't have leaking trouble unless the diaper is saturated (which isn't really a leak in my book).
One of my good friend uses Thirsties and prefolds on her daughter, and has also been happy with that. Her diapers are much bulkier though, and she typically doesn't snap her LOs onesies and has to buy pants up a size or so.
And a vote for snaps regardless of whichever you go with

I prefer the Thirsties in the beginning, but the Velcro is pretty bad. Flips are fine now that she's bigger. I love the Flip organic inserts (used them in 4.0s mainly), but GMD prefolds are amazing too! I think the prefolds are definitely better in the beginning. LO is 18 lbs and the Flips still seem big on her.

Either, but get SNAPS! Velcro doesn't hold up well on either brand.
I love my thirsties snaps .
