I like taking LO to shopping cart type places (grocery, Target, Costco) even though she scares me when she tries to stand up!

I really like taking both of my LOs out! I have a system, DD goes in the cart seat and DS is in the Ergo. It can be difficult at times, and certainly exhausting (especially grocery shopping with all that stuff and bags!) but I really do enjoy it. DD is even getting old enough that I can almost trust her to listen to me and get out of the cart, however she gets tired sometimes and wants to go back in.

We've taken LO to the mall and to Costco. Both were pretty fun. Tonight we might be taking her to the grocery store and possibly Burlington Coat Factory.

With the 7 month old I do. When he's acting crazy, it always settles him and since I wear him mostly, he falls asleep because I'm walking and the motion makes him sleepy. The 5 year old is a different story at this point. He runs around and constantly asks me to buy him things

I love shopping with my almost 5 yo DD It's serious bonding time! I love including her in buying clothes and food... Her opinions are interesting! With my 18 month old though? augh, it's a game the entire time keeping her entertained so she doesn't run off! We babywear (on my back) sometimes, but she loves to walk/run around and explore. She only lasts in the cart for 10 mins tops.

I don't mind taking him as long as it's not clothes shopping. He's usually pretty good about shopping with me.

@autumnlove: do you strap her down? Lo can't stand up if she's strapped down!
I don't mind taking lo shopping, she's always pretty good. I always get compliments on how well behaved she is

We haven't went yet...We have had to go to so many ped appts and to the outpatient center at the hospital for bloodwork due to H's Breastmilk Jaundice that I feel like she only goes to Germalicious places and I just want to get her home and make her safe!
People always crowd her and want to see her and talk to her/me...I know they're just being nice and want to tell me how cute she is but when they get too close I get really uncomfortable and want to tell them, "Back up, Germ Bag!"
So I'm still too paranoid! H is 4 weeks today...

Yes, because he's so good when we go out now! When he was 2 months, I would have said hell no since he would always fuss but now that he's older he loves checking out his surroundings and looking at everything in the stores.

Yes! We took our daughter to Target for the first time when she was 4 days old because I HAD to get out of the house. I'm a SAHM with not a lot of assistance so she goes with me whenever I run errands. We go somewhere every day just for a chance to get out of the house. She's gotten so used to it that if we stay home all day she starts to get fussy.
One day she screamed and screamed and screamed while we were out eating with my parents and nothing helped (nursing, napping, rocking, etc) so I wanted to go to Target to get her some baby acetaminophen and literally the second we hit the front door of Target she stopped screaming and smiled. Think maybe she likes shopping a little too much.
