I don't like hot drinks but my DH wants me to buy some when I go grocery shopping.
How do you make it? Instant powder? Or do you just heat milk and add syrup?

@autumnlove: You have to try Godiva's Chololixir, they also have it hot

I don't particularly love it, but don't drink coffee either so if we're doing some winter activity and I want a festive beverage to warm up with, I'll have one.
At home, I just buy actual Belgian chocolate, chop it up tiny and melt it in milk. Ideally with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream and an optional shot of Bailey's or Kahlua.

I love it but I don't like my hot chocolate very chocolate-ty.
Also, I make up some Nutella hot chocolate. Warm up some milk on the stove and add a spoonful of Nutella. YUM!

I don't like hot chocolate from a mix because it's too sweet, but I often do the following:
1. Mix ~3 heaping tsp sugar + ~2 heaping tsp unsweetened cocoa powder* (really, I eyeball the amounts, sorry for the imprecision!) in a mug
2. Add a bit of hot water and stir into a thin paste
3. Fill up the rest of the mug and stir thoroughly
4. Microwave for about 1.5-2 mins, until hot but not boiling
5. Enjoy!
*Ghiradelli is a good brand
