I eat KD less than once a year but every time I eat it I always think, "Why don't I eat this more often? It's so good!"
I'm making some right now because I just saw it in my pantry but I cannot remember the last time I had any.
Do you like KD?

@mynoahbear: Macaroni and cheese in a box. You cook the pasta and it comes with a powdered cheese mix that you stir in with butter and milk.

No way! If I do eat boxed mac n cheese I like the kind with the cheese sauce instead of the cheese powder. My husband loves Kraft mac n cheese though. He lived off of that stuff in college.

I have only had it once a long time ago but I didn't like it. Once in a while I'll cook Annie's "organic" mac and cheese in a box for the LO and I will steal some. That one is pretty good. I'm still wary though - can mac and cheese out of a box truly be organic?

Love it! I don't eat it often because its not very healthy, and I always eat too much of it. At least I buy whole wheat now.

Yes! It was a life saver in pregnancy when I had zero appetite and just had to get something to stay down. I do like the funny shapes better than the macaroni, I think Spongebob holds the sauce in better

@Rubies: oh ok... I love Mac and cheese. Whenever we go to the international supermarket, I always pick up a few boxes. I like the ones with the sauce instead of the powder better though.

ooooh! haha. IT"S SO GOOD! I always feel guilty after I've eaten it though!

It's so cute that you call it Kraft Dinner. We call it mac and cheese!

Not the new one "smart" but the original. YUM! I craved it during my first pregnancy

@chopsuey119: Maybe it's a Canadian thing? Everyone I know says "KD" or "Kraft dinner" - LOL.

I think my taste buds are changing because I just had a bowl of it and it was borderline gross to me. Ew.

I like real mac n cheese, but not the boxed kind. If I'm starving I can handle the microwave bowl version with broccoli in, but that's about it. I think the cheese part has a strong after taste.
Has anyone had the Vegan version of this? Tastes about the same as the Kraft kind IMO.

Hah! I live on it..Kraft, Annie's, velveeta, shapes..love it all!

Haha yeah I've never heard it called Kraft Dinner before either, must be a Canadian thing! We just call it Mac n Cheese... or the microwave version is called Easy Mac. It's a staple in our pantry and during picky times we make it all the time for Wagon Jr. and mix in frozen mixed veggies and chunks of ham. All the important food groups in one bowl!
We'll also make it for ourselves when we have nothing else to eat... such a comfort food! yumm!!!

No... the fact that the cheese comes in a powder form is enough to turn me off. I only tasted it once when I was preparing it for a my niece who I was baby sitting, and I couldnt understand why she loved it so much.

Love it! Kraft mac & cheese was one of my very favorite things growing up. These days I try to buy the organic TJs or Whole Foods version though, rather than the original. Tastes just as good with a little less guilt.
I also love Annie's shells & cheese too!

Noooooo, no powdered cheese. My mom always made mac and cheese from scratch and said only one time did she try to “cheat” and feed me Kraft mac and cheese when I was around 3. I spit it right out, refused to eat any more and cried. Even back then I only wanted real cheese I guess! Lol

Kraft mac and cheese is like a college comfort food to me. There are times when I actually crave it. On regular days, though, it doesn't sound appealing.

Every once in awhile we have it. But normally I will make the real stuff!
GOLD / grape / 82 posts
Yes, because I couldn't have it as a kid. They didn't have it in Papua New Guinea. But, I can't eat it - way too many calories.

oh btw I totally grew up on real mac and cheese... probably because my parents didn't even know the instant stuff existed. Basically just pasta, cheese, and milk in a pot. I still make it every now and then but "kraft dinner" totally brings me back to college!

I love it. I just went through two boxes within this past week... hahaha. And I think it's so cute that Canadians call it Kraft Dinner. I worked with a girl from Canada and she called it that all the time-- as soon as I saw the thread, I knew what you were talking about!

@Rubies: Have you had Annie's Organic Mac and Cheese? It is sooooooo good! It is much better than Kraft--not as chalky! They sell it in most grocery stores.

@Andrea: I just had the Annie's yesterday and was thinking the same thing. I was looking at the ingredients and there doesn't seem to be any sort of that fake stuff, or any big words I can't pronounce. That's a good sign!
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@Mrsdaredevil: yeah, it seems pretty natural but still suspicious.

I'll have to try Annie's, sounds better!
Hmmm, sounds like a Kraft "lunch" kind of day

I used to love it as a kid. I ate some last week because it was the only thing sounding good to me. I threw it up and I don't think I ever want to eat it again. Oh the joy of morning sickness.

I used to love it when I was little. I don't eat it as much now but every once in awhile I crave it. I also think it's super cute that it's known as Kraft Dinner in Canada.
