We went out for seafood last night for our anni.
Oh.My.God. Best raw oysters I've had in my entire life! I guess they are flown in from Prince Edward Island , Nova Scotia, Canada. Now I want to visit so I can eat oysters all day long!

I love them, but hardly ever get to have them.
I'm picky though and will only eat them when I've picked them and since I don't live near the ocean this doesn't happen often.
I guess I was spoiled growing up on the ocean with fresh seafood, so rarely will I eat it in a restaurant.

I LOVE raw oysters. And yes, the best ones come from Canada! We went to PEI a few years ago...To die for.

I never used to, but since moving to the PNW I've become a convert. I still can't handle a lot at a time, but I'm good with one or two as an appetizer. We have such a wide variety here and they're super yummy. I've even been craving them since I'm pregnant and they're off-limits...can't wait until I can finally have some again!

@lavender: @betsyboop: @Rubies: all my life I've been oblivious to PEI oysters?!?! Now I need to play catch up!
@ALV91711: I think it depends. I didn't grow up near the ocean but I grew up in nyc where fresh live seafood was plentiful. And have eaten at many ocean restaurants including in Italy and China where you actually pick the shellfish and fish you want them to cook. So I can taste fresh vs frozen seafood. Etc. And these were sooooo fresh and delicious. But I'd imagine if I ate them On PEI they'll be even better!

I love them, but only in the months with an "R" in them, otherwise the water around where I live is too warm. I LOVE local oysters!

Raw oysters are in my top 5 favorite foods! I love driving to the coast and getting oysters straight from the farm.

Yes, yum yum, especially with lots of cocktail sauce! Although if I had to choose between sushi or raw oysters, sushi would win!

Yum!! There's a Cajun place that does half price oysters during happy hour. Hubby and I indulge quite often. We love it when Pappadeaux's has their oyster specials. So, so good!

Om nom nom! Yes! Raw though. I don't think I've ever had cooked oysters!

I can't get passed the texture of them. But I'm also not a fan of clams, mussels, or scallops either because of the texture. But shrimp, lobster, and crab...nom nom!

@locavore_mama: a type of oyster originally from Japan and mainly on the west coast. It's totally different from the PEI, sweeter and smaller. Def try one when you see it on the menu!

Not the biggest fan of raw oysters. BUT chargrilled oysters from New Orleans, specifically ACME oyster house are what dreams are made of!

Yes! We have a favorite place to go that steams them. I can't wait till this fall to go and get some. DH will only eat in a month with an R and if it is starting to get cold. Oct is the first he will go.

Absolutely! I miss them raw while pregnant. I don't think I've ever had PEI ones tho. Most of the ones around here are from the west coast.
