I love how they look and how long they last but I hate the process of getting the polish off. So I stopped getting them awhile ago cause I just couldn't keep up with the maintenance involved.

I totally agree with @lawbee11. I love the way they look and they last longer than a regular manicure but the process of taking it off is a pain. I've also been told if it's not done properly it can wreck your nails

@lawbee11: & @Mirage: have you tried the vinylux kind of mani mrs. hopscotch recommended in this post? i got a few of them & they last longer than a regular mani, but don't have to be soaked off like a regular shellac mani. bonus points since i can do them at home without a light

I like them, but I really hate the idea of having to soak in acetone to get them off, so I don't get them anymore.

@mrsjyw: Love them but they are expensive! My SO got me an at home kit for Christmas and it has been great, pretty much paid for itself already

I got it done once for my wedding. Loved it but taking it off was a pain. I couldn't help myself and ended up picking it all off and it ruined my nails. oops.
@mrs. bird: oooo never heard of that! I'll have to try it!

I love them! They last for soooo long. I had one last over 5 weeks. Which was actually pretty ridic because of the nail growth. I have never has to soak my nails to get the polish off. I have always been able to peel it off. Additionally, my mom got me the Sally Hansen at home gel kit. It doesn't last quite as long as a salon, but it's much more economical.

They were nice, but made my nails brittle so I had to stop.

I liked them so much at first since I always mess up a mani right outside the salon! But it is a pain to take it off. I would get it if I know I can't afford to get them messed up!

If I'm gonna get a manicure, I get a shellac because otherwise it comes off the next day!

I LOVE them! I will just do a French nano, so as it grows out it doesn't look bad, and I can just trim down the white as needed.

I love shellac, but it's really hard on my nails, they peel.
I have my own UV light, lol.

I've had it done once and I liked it but not enough to get it done again I guess.

I had one for my wedding that lasted all through our honeymoon and I loved it for that. But taking it off was a huge pain and it ruined my nails for awhile. I would get one again for a special occasion, but not on the regular.
