I freaking hate it. I am currently shopping for a 4 year old boy who has everything!

It seems harder than it used to be! I need to get a gift for our 5 year old nephew who is a spoiled brat and anything we get him he won't appreciate or will be tossed to the side!

As they get older, it's more difficult to shop for kids. I have two birthdays coming up in September and pretty stumped as to what to buy my nieces. Clothes? Books? Toys?

I don't enjoy it! I like to get thoughtful gifts but then I end up wondering if they already have the item, and I start stressing!

It's hard because I have no idea what kids are into. I always end up getting baby clothes.

I enjoy it if I know something that the child needs. I do not like shopping for kids who have everything! It is so hard!!

Depends on the kid. I've had to shop for kids that I've never met them or their parents before (DH's friends) and that sucked. I had no idea what they were into. But I think it's fun to shop for kids that I have an idea of what they'll like.
We went to a birthday party of two kids that have everything. We've played at their house and they seriously have every toy. I made them a DIY Fort Kit. He's into super heros so it was super hero themed, and she got a princess themed one. I put in sheets, clothes pins, flash lights (pink and red), and some things to play with while in the fort. Then I bought a tote bag at the dollar store and personalized it for them.

@autumnlove: maybe you can do a magazine subscription like High Five or Ladybug for him if he already has everything? We love it.
I enjoy shopping for other kids.. but I love shopping for anyone.

I also find it difficult. It depends on the kid and parent, but sometimes it is nearly impossible to find the "right" thing!
