No! The painting makes her look old and tired - wrinkles around the eyes, etc.

I agree, maybe its odd lighting but I would have wanted to look more youthful.

Not at all! It's not flattering to her at all and she is SUCH a beautiful woman!

I agree, the painting is not rendering. Her hair looks great, but the dark green dress, dark background, and technique he used over her face just makes her look old and gloomy.

not the most flattering painting. she is a lovely girl, but the painting doesn't do her justice. maybe it's better in person...

I think she's beautiful but the painting makes her look so much older than she really is! I think it's the whole eye area that I'm not crazy about!

Wow. The artist made her look old and frumpy. Poor Kate.

I totally agree it did not do her justice. Who ever wants a completely realistic painting of themselves in horrible lighting!? If it were me, I would have asked them to paint me 5 lb lighter and with flawless complexion

He also gave her such a smug smile which I hate! When you have such a gorgeous subject to work with I feel like you should have a much better result!!

I agree the painting makes her look much older than she is! And it's so dark!

I wonder if they are trying to make her look more "regal" by aging her so much?? I'd be pretty upset about it if it were a painting of me!!! I like her smiling eyes though - the artist has captured her mischievous smile whilst still allowing her to fit in with the other, more serious looking portraits.

Nope. I agree with everyone else, makes her look way older then she is.
honeydew / 7916 posts
No...it's as if the artist saw individual details of her face and played those up instead of looking at the whole picture and figuring out how to create a beautiful portrait. She's young and radiant and he completely failed to capture that!

Omg, I would be so pissed off if I were her! Of ALL pictures, why pick the one where she has a mouth full of cake while about to be asked a question!?

No. The nose and mouth lines are what I keep looking at. She looks so much older, it's so dark, and the expression creepy.

I don't like it! I wish he didn't paint the bags under her eyes!

I don't like it at all. She looks older and sad in the photo. She looks 20x better in real life.
