My husband and I are trying.to pick a movie to watch and it has come to my attention that we have completely different opinions. How bout you all, do you like the same movies as your other half or is this a battle for you as well?

We enjoy some of the same movies, but we have different tastes too.

We enjoy some of the same movies like super hero movies but as a general rule we are always in different moods and want to watch completely different things. Also, he is very much okay with "class b" movies with bad acting and all but I am not.

Sometimes, but both of us are good about watching movies with each other that the other liked just to spend time together.
I just won't watch any gory, war movie types and he likes those. He is good about watching romantic movies with me.

@cyndistar3: I feel so blessed to have such a giving husband. We make compromises for each other

@miss-spunkin: That is so sweet We are generally very compromising but we both can be stubborn butts when it comes to movies.

We do like the same movies. The only exception is horror/gore. I wont watch anything like that mostly because I spent a lot of nights alone while he worked. I would freak myself out thinking about all the scary movies. He loves horror movies.

We do like some of the same movies. But I have my girly movies and he watches his manly movies sometimes. I think he secretly likes girly movies though. He never complains about watching a chick flick, and I think he liked the Sex in the City movie more than I did. Which wasn't much.

Completely different tastes! SOmetimes he will let me watch a movie, but if he picks it---it's usually some horror movie and I do not do well with those. Now, to be fair, he is better at knowing if I will like a movie. I'll usually watch it and pout because I don't want to, then by the end of it, I love it.

@artbee: My DH TOTALLY likes girly movies. His "I'm home sick and cranky, and I need comfort" movie is When Harry Met Sally, and last weekend he brought home a friend's copy of the movie Bridesmaids for us to watch (despite my reluctance)!

We both like comedies and action films (without being really graphic/bloody.) We can usually agree on a choice, but we have difference. I like the occasional chick flick, he enjoys sports movies that I normally don't like.

@Lozza: Lol, that's funny. I was a little worried people would think my husband likes boys when I said that... but I'm glad I'm not the only one with a husband who likes chick flicks!

Yes we both like the same types - action movies and geeky sci-fi ones as well as martial arts films (Tony Jaa is ridiculous). I absolutely loathe the chick flicks like SATC and anything with Katherine Heigl. However, I love old movies such as Roman Holiday and Some Like it Hot which he is ok about watching.

Sometimes. There are some movies that we both like, but for the most part, we don't have the same tastes. Our Netflix queue alternates between my pick and his pick, and we always watch them together.
DH also goes to the movies quite a bit with his cousins. It's kind of their thing. Usually the movies they see are the ones I don't really care for, so it works out that way, too.
