Making Cobi's first birthday party invitation... I like it but I'm not sure I LOVE it. Is it too boring?

i agree that a little picture would be cute! maybe an oval shaped picture on the left side, where the banner would overlap the top just a bit. then you could just shift the text over to the right...?

I think a photo would be great too or maybe just move all of your text down a little, it kind of looks bunched at the top. Overall I really like the design. Do you really love in that town? If so that is awesome! (I am extremely gullible so my guess is you probably changed it? )

i love it...
here are my tweaks...the banner with his name i would bring it out to about 3/4 of the page and make the banner wider to "show off" is name a bit more...then with the bottom of the Party info i would bring that down a bit and see what it would look like if you right justified it as the info with his name would be centered...i hope that makes sense...

Cute! I do agree with making the banner larger and maybe adding a small picture of some sort to fill in the blank space. It just feels a little bare right now.
That's my birthday, btw.

I would make the navy banner larger since that is the focus. I would move the "come celebrate" text to the bottom half of the card.
Personally, I would also look at another font for "Come Celebrate" so that the c's can be capitalized.

Not a fan of the "is turning" font.
I think the body text needs to be centered between the ip of the bottom border and bottom of the Jacobi piece. Centered on the card makes it look off. -

I think I know what's bothering me about the body text. Is it centered vertically between the borders? Also I noticed your borders are different widths. I think it works in your inspiration because of everything going on. But with yours with that much empty space, not as much. -
@regberadaisy: the borders aren't differing widths, maybe the chevron just gives that illusion?

I might still bring the main body of text down a smidge, but that's just me. It just seems like there is a lot of extra white space on the bottom and feels a bit cramped on the top by the banner.

And I agree with pp that you might want to bring the text down a smudge (centre it all vertically then centre the party info text within its box). Great job!

I do agree with @Thehistoryofus: that it still needs to say "come celebrate" above the date and time. And be sure to change to 2013.
