I LOVE camping. It was pretty much the only vacationing we did as a family when I was growing up.
Where is your favorite place to camp? What do you like to do while camping? favorites camp foods?
I love to camp at this lake that is right on the border of Canada (BC) and eastern Washington. It is so warm and beautiful! I like to do watersports (we have a boat) and play cards by lantern light. Oh, and eat spaghetti!!

We love camping and hiking. Can't wait to take LO. Maybe next year when she is 2. Tent camping is the best. Fires, hotdogs, breakfast the next morning... Perfection!

This is going to sound so bad, but I'm only interested in camping if there is a camper involved. My parents actually have a pretty nice camper with plenty of room and a kitchen and a decent shower. That's the only way that I'm going to agree to a camping trip.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: Hahaha! I'm not quite that bad- but I couldn't truly rough it for more than a day/night or so before I'd be like "Okay, camping was fun. I'm ready to go back to my comfortable home now!" Unless there was a camper, haha:)

I love camping!! I was a little sad we couldn't go this summer because it would have been a hassle with DS. I look forward to it as our kid(s) get older though.
I love watersports too! When we went on vaca this summer it was a little sad because I was definitely limited in what I could do because of taking care of a 4-mos old. love my baby and all but summer activities aren't too fun with a baby hahaha!
We usually had the standard hot dogs, burgers, potato salad, chips, salad etc and I am down with that lol!
I like hiking, swimming, biking, tree-climbing etc.

When you guys are talking about camping, you mean you pitch a tent for a few days? I'm just clarifying....I think there are some places that have showers and stuff...That wouldn't be so bad....

@PrincessBaby: omg this one time I totally went "real" camping in the middle of nowhere in high school with my church group. It was BEAUTIFUL, Texas in the woods with a gorgeous lake. wonderful. And I would have been so fine without running water because we were only there for two nights, but I just happened to get my period that day!! OMG I was a wreck. our pastor was freaking out at us girls cause we wouldn't go in the woods, but really it was because I had to dispose of feminine products!! omg I was so embarrassed I was crying to my girl friends. They all stuck up for me and demanded that we drive off to find a bathroom - so they totally embarrassed themselves for me. It was totally sweet. anyway that was my one bad experience with roughing it!

love it! me and dh always run into bears though! everytime we go. last time the bear stole our marshmellows lol. i love all the traditional food, smores, we like to grilll steaks or burgers and some veggies on the fire.
we love boating too, tubing. dh loves to kneeboard. i cnat wait til ds is older nad can go boating and camping.

Love it! Love it so much that dh proposed to me on a camping trip because its one of my favorite things
We go to fort wilderness in Disney every year, have since I was born. This year we'll be going twice, we already went once and I'll be going again to celebrate my 30th. We also like to check out different camp grounds in the area.
We have weird traditions. We always go on a pj bike ride in the morning before we get dressed. We go to the pool, go for walks. Disney has tons to do, arts and crafts, a sing a long and movie every night outside. And we usually go during football season so we bring a tv or two to watch the games.
For breakfast we do pancakes, eggs, I like turkey bacon, and someone makes the yummiest biscuits. For dinner hamburgers and hot dogs. Last time we did walking tacos as something new, they were yummy!

Love it, as long as it's not pouring rain. Last time DH and I went we set up the tent in the pouring rain, peeing in the woods was no fun, and we were at the bottom of a hill so it felt like there was a river running directly under the tent while we slept. That particular time we were on the grounds of a lodge that cooked us meals, which was lucky because there was NO chance of making a fire to cook dinner for ourselves like we have in the past (or even using a camping stove). We haven't gone since but will at some point again soon.

I hate camping. Have done it numerous time (I'm Canadian...it's pretty much expected!) but it's not for me.
DH loves it and goes on an annual camping weekend. When he goes camping, I go to stay with my BFF in NYC!
ETA: DH and I both love hiking. So we hike a lot, but stay in cottages inns/b&bs.

Hellz no. One time my dad tried to take us and we had our mom pick us up before the weekend ended.

@JoJoGirl: we also had a pouring rain camping experience. Luckily because lo was only 3 months my parents got us a cabin so we were dry the entire time. But the 20 people we camp with were in tents and piled into our cabin the entire weekend.... until lo's bedtime when we kicked them out. It was quite an experience!

@artbee: haha. After the first night I was begging DH to stay in the lodge instead but he was hellbent on following through on our plans to camp The other folks in the lodge were really impressed with us when we trudged outside after dinner... if we had a LO I'm sure we wouldn't have bothered.

We went camping a bunch when I was younger. We always camped on the lake and went wake boarding and tubing. In the evenings my parents would grill all kinds of good food. I still like to camp, but I don't love it. There is so much work involved with setting up and breaking down the campsite.

@JoJoGirl: on the last night everyone in the group got a hotel. No sense in being miserable! Everything was soaking wet and cold by then. Except our stuff because we were nice and dry in the cabin

I love tent camping! As long as there are showers nearby and I'm not pregnant. We did one pregnant camping trip and while it was fun, I wasn't wild about crawling in and our of a tent and sleeping on an air mattress when I was 4 months along...

I never camped as a child (unless it was in the backyard). But DH LOVES camping so we camp at least 3x/year. I'm kinda a wimp though and basically car camp. I don't think I could truly rough it without some sort of facilities.
Every year some of his college friends arrange a camping/kayaking trip along the Delaware river and it's super fun! Although camping wasn't as fun this year when I was pregnant and couldn't have a beer or four
