My birthstone is garnet. Not a fan.

Diamond... Meh.
All sarcasm aside... Yeah, I'm a fan. Would be awesome to have an LO that has a Dec. birthdate as I love that birthstone.

Opal and I love it...well, certain versions of it.
I have some opals my grandfather got in India when he was in the service that are pale white with just flecks of color. I love them.
I've gotten some newer ones that might be manufactured or something? I don't know. But they're much bluer and more colorful and streaky. I prefer the whiter ones

I totally feel like deja vu like someone had asked this a while back!
Mine is topaz (yellow) and I used to hate it, but then yellow became my fav color so now I love it!

@yellowbird: my grandmother had the most beautiful topaz set in platinum in a setting straight out of Great Gatsby, it was my favorite of all her jewelry.
It went to my godmother when my grandmother passed because it's her birthstone. I secretly hoped that my December baby would be born in November so maybe I'd inherit the ring, haha

I do! It's aquamarine which I think is beautiful. I also love ruby, which is LO's birthstone!

Mine's a diamond, and meh? They're pretty and all, but not my favorite (I don't even have a diamond engagement ring!)

@Littlebit: I was just going to write the same exact response! LOL

Mine is aquamarine and I have always liked it but don't actually own any jewelry with my birthstone. DH may have to remedy that

It's okay. Pearl or alexandrite. My real favorite has always been sapphire. It was the main stone in my engagement ring and lo and behold it is my sons birthstone!!!!

Amethyst... loved it when I was younger, not crazy about it now! Not a purple fan!
However I have been redeemed by my kids' birthstones... ruby and turquoise! Love them!

I'm also garnet! I have one garnet ring I actually like, but otherwise I've never been much of a fan either.

Mine is aquamarine and I really love it.
@MaryM: There are different "colors" of opals. The ones you're talking about with the brighter colors are black opals. They are all naturally mined!

Mine is amethyst, and I do like it. That's good, because I've received SO MUCH of it as gifts!
@HellOnHeels: My water broke on the night of Nov. 30, and I told DH that I hoped she stayed in until she'd be a December baby so she'd have a prettier birthstone Success - she was born the next morning! He got me earrings of her birthstone for that Christmas.

I'm not crazy about topaz. But LOs is peridot, and I think its kind of awesome.

Yes! So much so that I asked for it for my engagement ring. It adds to the sentiment that dh's is a diamond.

October = opal, which I like. Although I hate in cheaper jewelry it's always pink glass. Why? Meh.
Also opal is pretty but a little hard to wear because it is so soft. I had one larger opal ring and I chipped the opal wearing it to work

Sapphire - LOVE! I was going back and forth about having sapphire side stones in my E-ring, but decided against it. Totally kicking myself now!!
