@grizz: what field are you thinking of?
I'm also a medical SW but now I work on the child protection team at the hospital. I love my job, aside from the nighttime and weekend on call. I dread Wednesday nights and every fourth weekend to the point that I'm actually thinking of looking for something else.

i despise my job and plan on quitting after the LO arrives in april - after i take my ML. i work in PR for a global fashion brand and it's very demanding, long overseas travel, catty colleagues, competitive, political, etc. - pretty much everything you imagine it could be...it is. it's also hard for me to find it rewarding...
it's a great job for someone who's 100% career driven, without family, or in love with the glitz and glamour (there are so many perks and it's high profile) but my priorities just don't lie there anymore. i'm grateful i have a job but i've realized it's really not for me in the long run. most of the mother's here are in their late 30s - 40s because some have had to focus on career advancement instead, which i totally respect but it just isn't for me.

@SupernovaJ: woah! That sounds super demanding and stressful! I don't blame you for wanting out!!!
@Orvis18: I used to do HR at a foster care agency and respect the emotionally taxing work that SW's do!

I don't hate it, but it's not what I want to do for the rest if my life. I am working here until I finish my degree.

I'm a lawyer and I think I love my job! There are problems that are inherent within the profession. And of course I wish I could get paid for doing something like riding horses or traveling to glamorous places. But aside from that, I really like my job!

@babyjmama: Business Management in Information Technology. I would have preferred mechanical engineering but I need to complete my degree online and no where offers it for a reasonable price.

I'm a part-time librarian/SAHM and I love my jobs. I love being home with my kids during the day, but I also love going to work at night!

Love my job (niche area of law), but hate the pressure of the billable hour at a law firm.
Although I've always been interested in education, so who knows what I'll be doing in 20 years....

I love my job. This is my third week but seriously, it's awesome. I had worked in higher ed marketing and communications for the past 8 years but made a career shift to grant writing, fundraising, and communications for a non profit. It's crazy busy right now and I actually pulled an all-nighter writing a grant (5 due in my first 3 weeks of working here ) but I didn't mind. Tomorrow I get to go meet with guidance counselors at a junior high to talk about doing an anti-bullying and sexual harassment course for the kids, their parents, and school staff. I love my work! Happy I waited for the right one to come along.
