I did with DD1. He would usually do the 11 pm feeding with me and then go to bed. We would sit there and chat. Now with DD2 I just do it all by myself. I don't find that I need the company like I did last time. I guess it all just seems "old hat" now.

He helps me by getting her when I need him to. That is enough for me. When she was under 3 months, she was in a bassinet next to my side of the bed so he didn't need to help, she was right there!

I like when he chats with me for a few minutes, but that hardly ever happens. He really only helps at night if I ask him to.

He used to help change her diaper and after I finished breastfeeding he was able to completely take over shifts..... I loved that

He will only help at night if I ask him to. If she wakes up it's time to eat, that's all on me. If she wakes up and isn't going back to sleep, I give it a try for a bit and if I get too exhausted from getting up every 5 minutes then I'll poke him to go do it.

Nope. I feel bad asking him to get up, because he has to go to work in the morning. Plus, I BF so there's not much he can do. I wouldn't feel right asking him to get up just to change a diaper when I need to be up anyway. Plus, I don't want to chat in the middle of the night--just want to stay as asleep as possible while I nurse!

DH sleeps through everything, even if I am holding a screaming baby right next to him. If I wake him for help a lot of times he just mumbles and doesn't really wake up. this drives me nuts, so I usually just do it on my own and that is ok. He didn't get up with DD2 either so I didn't expect much help, but there really isn't much for him to do anyway.

No, I'm breastfeeding so there's not much he can do to help. Once we start with bottles we'll probably take turns.
I have a strict no chatting or socialising rule at night, DS would totally think it was play time if we were talking.

If DH doesn't have to work early, he usually takes any feedings between 5 a.m.through when he needs to leave. If he has to get up early, no. This will have to change when I am back to work though.

She is in our room at the moment and often he'll take her to the nursery and change her diaper then bring her back to me to feed her. That way I don't have to get up. He falls back asleep in like 30 seconds so he doesn't mind.

While I was on maternity leave and he was working, I took care of nights on my own. Once I went back to work he became the first pass - he can fall back asleep really easily so he doesn't mind getting up and giving her a paci or something quickly. If I do have to feed her I don't want him up though, no sense in two of us getting exhausted when only one could!

Nope, most of the time awake is spent nursing anyway, so might as well have one person get sleep.

Nope, he sleeps through everything. I think he helped the first night or so, since then it's all being me. I like having company when I'm up feeding but I just rely on my phone to keep me awake.
