Apparently not to some people. I am 32, and pregnant, yet I got stopped in the mall a few months ago by a security guard asking if I had an ID ... which you need if you are under 16.

I think I do (I definitely feel like I do!) due to the lack of sleep the past 2 years and counting. Hoping DD is a good sleeper when she arrives. However, I do still randomly get I look younger comments here and there.

People have always said I look older than I am.
I'll never forget when I was 16, I bought myself school supplies and the cashier asked, "are your kids starting school soon?" I was so offended, haha.

Bc I'm petite and Asian I'm guessing to most people I look younger.. When I had my son people started guessing probably a bit older just because people have kids later around here. (I had him at 26).
But people who are familiar with Asians guess around correctly (I'm 28 now).
I definitely think I look my age now. I have wrinkles and am always exhausted hahah

@HLK208: What?!?!? I think you could easily pass for a college kid now - I can't imagine you looked old enough to have your own kids when you really were a student!
To answer the original question - yep, I look my age. I'm 36 - when I see pictures of 30 yr olds, I think I look much older than them, but when I see pictures of 40 yr olds, I think I look a fair bit younger than them, so I'd say most would guess my age fairly accurately.

Nope. DH and I just stopped getting carded for rated R movies in the last few years (seriously), and we just turned 30. Though really that's more him than me. But people definitely assume I'm more mid-20's.

I don't know how old I look! People tell me I look young, but I AM young(ish). Maybe I just look my age?!?
nectarine / 2173 posts
Younger than my age by a lot. Have that conversation with people in a daily basis. ;/ hopefully it'll continue when I'm older!
persimmon / 1458 posts
No, I always talk about how "old" I am and people are surprised when I tell them my age. Yay for me!
eggplant / 11861 posts
IDK I think I look 30, then sometimes younger, then older.... Lol
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
I look my age but DH looks young for his age. He'll get carded and I won't

I don't know! I think when I'm in my at-home clothes I probably look a lot younger, but when I leave the house with two kids or go to work, I probably look my age.

I am still getting carded at the liquor store... at age 34! And the legal drinking age here is 19, but they will ID you if you look under 25. So, I guess I look a lot younger than my age? People that meet me are often very much surprised at my age. Especially at work, where I don't wear makeup. With makeup, I probably look in my late 20s. I have a very slight build, and a small face, both of which erroneously give the impression of me being younger.

@rachiecakes: You do not look 35!! I'd put you around 28-29.
@Rainbow Sprinkles: I think you look your age!
Okay I totally thought I looked my age. But twice now within the last month, I've had TWO coworkers (that I didn't know well - ie they didn't know I'm a mom) ask me if I live with my parents!!
They were shocked when I said I've been married for over five years, and have a three year old child.
I wonder if, when people have prior knowledge that you're married and a parent, they just automatically assume your older? I met some people when I was pregnant who didn't think I was really 21, because I was pregnant! They thought I was at least 25 at the time. I think it was less related to how old I looked and moreso my gestational status lol

I think I look younger than my age but not by much anymore. I used to look WAY younger and now it's catching up to me!
@sandy: both of you look younger than you are!

I think i look my age but I'm only 23 and I rarely get carded anymore sooo maybe having children has aged me horribly and I don't see it lol
nectarine / 2987 posts
I have no clue! This makes me want to upload a photo and ask people to guess.

I got carded buying beer WITH LO.
I guess a lot of 20-year-old mothers are going to Trader Joe's with their babies to buy kale, quinoa, and pumpkin beer?

@MrsSRS: haha right? But that could be opening a dangerous can if worms!
papaya / 10560 posts
I got id'ed buying beer today because she said "i didn't look 40." so i would say i definitely look well over 21, which i am--but not quite 40! Ha!

I think I look closer to my age when I wear makeup, but I usually don't... I got carded for a rated R movie not too long ago
clementine / 856 posts
not at all. it is detrimental in my professional life because it's hard for some people to take me seriously. but other than that, i guess it's a good thing!
kiwi / 557 posts
The older the person, the younger they guess I am I'm 33 and believe I look a young 32.
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
I get told that I look like I am in my mid 2Os vs 31 quite a bit...I think it has more to do with the fact that I often dress like a college student as opposed to actually being youthful
persimmon / 1281 posts
I'm 32 and think I look fairly close to my age, maybe slightly younger like late 20s. DH on the other hand is 45 and looks much younger. Bartenders routinely make comments after they ID him. One even said "wow, good work" haha
persimmon / 1281 posts
@simplyfelicity: I think how someone dresses hugely influences how old they look. Certain clothes can really age a person!

I don't know - I feel like I look my age, but most people seem shocked when I tell them how old I am.
pomegranate / 3314 posts
I think so. I'm 34 and could maybe pass for 2 or 3 years younger, but that's probably the max!
clementine / 854 posts
The bartender on vacation last year thought I looked 17. I was 25. So I definitely look younger.

Just in case I do, I started Obagi Nu Derm again for the first time since we started having kids...Retin A is my friend!
clementine / 778 posts
I'm 31 and with no make up, people assume I'm a teenager. When I'm dressed up, people usually assume early 20s.
