I'll admit, we don't make our bed very often...only if people are coming over. It's odd, because the rest of our house is organized and clean, I just never feel like making the bed!

Nope. Not unless people are coming over, I'm putting on fresh sheets, or I'm folding laundry on top of the covers. I do like made beds though

We never make the bed unless we wash the sheets or we have people coming over.

Um, no. Not really ever. Maybe if my IL's are coming over because they can see into our bedroom (small apartment).

Oh man, I seem to be in the minority here! I make the bed EVERY day, because I hate getting into an unmade bed at night. The rest of my house can be a disaster, but the bed is made.

Yes, it drives me crazy when it's unmade. It's one of the first things I do!

I can't leave the house without making the bed. I'd rather be late to work than have an unmade bed.

@EBSC: I don't make it particularly well, and not usually in the morning, but I can't sleep if the blankets aren't smoothed out right. So yeah, I kind of do every day, but not for looks, just for comfort. I hate when the blankets are all bunched.

Nope. the bed is made if there is company coming over and they're going to see the "nursery" which is in our bedroom. We don't even use a topsheet, just the fitted sheet and two duvets (one apiece).

Every day. And when my toddler gets out of her floor bed I make it up and tell her that we always make our bed.
grapefruit / 4291 posts
Yep, my DH is in the military so is big on making the bed although I do hate wrinkles in my sheets

I never used to but since I've been home on maternity leave I make it every day. I swear I am so much more productive now that I have a baby. It's like every time she goes down for a nap I challenge myself to see how many things I can get done before its time to feed her again.

I just started doing it daily for the first time in my life. It's one bit of order amidst the chaos!
pomegranate / 3604 posts
no, but I really should. It instantly makes the room look clean/put together & would probably ease my mind about the fretting I do about the state of my place (never clean enough for my liking, ever, ever ever. Sometimes I can't sleep b/c I'm thinking of all that needs to be done. I fail.)
GOLD / grapefruit / 4007 posts
we do!! Even if we didn't I would have to straighten it before going to sleep at night. I like for the sheets to be pulled really tight!
pomegranate / 3329 posts
Yes, if I make my children do it then I need to follow my own rules! Plus I can't stand getting into an unmade bed, and it makes the room instantly look more put together. Although right now NOTHING is helping with the heaping pile of unwrapped gifts that are covered up with a huge comforter, lol! That's what 4 kids and a husband at Christmas plus working full time will do to ya

I only make the bed when I change the sheets.
The only time I make my bed every day is when I stay at my Grandma's house. It is kind of a rule there.
pomelo / 5321 posts
Nope. I rarely make the bed. I don't really see the point when we're going to mess it up in a few hours and we are the only ones who see it.

I did before getting pregnant, but now I'm so lazy these days. But we still have to make it somewhat (at least sheets & blankets) every night before we can crawl in bed.
clementine / 780 posts
In the morning, I take everything off and put a sheet over the bed so the dog can lounge, and we make it proper at night before we get in it.
grapefruit / 4582 posts
Everyday! It's the first thing I do in the AM because even if nothing else gets done, I still can get into a nicely made bed at the end of the night.
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
Nope, only when we have company. Why should I if nobody is going to see it and it's only going to get unmade?
pomegranate / 3244 posts
@EBSC: YES. It drives me batty if the bed is not made! Luckily DH is the same so one less thing to argue about, haha (now if I could only get him to hang his towels up right...)
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
We throw the duvet over the sheets, but don't put the shams and pillows on unless people are coming over.
