I had a play date with one of my moms in the building (her daughter is 9 months older than M) and she looked stunned when I said I didn't really need "me" time.
I mean, there are times when DH is out of town that the kids and I don't leave the apt for days..
Guess I'm a true homebody?
If anything I try to go outside for the kids so they can get fresh air!

I did when I was a SAHM. At least once a week. On bad days Wagon Sr. would come home from work and help me put Wagon Jr. to bed, then I'd escape and walk around the mall or CVS. And on weekends I loved to go get pedicures.
Now, not so much. I think my time at work is my "me" time. When I take time to go out and do my own thing (pedicures, shopping, etc) it mostly just exhausts me. It's tough enough to schedule in date night time to bond with Wagon Sr.
So I guess the short answer is no, I don't need "me" time! Not anymore.

Yes - we both need our time apart. Usually once a week he goes to play poker with friends and I snuggle with the cat.

I like to indulge in mani's and pedi's but I don't like them because I'm away from everyone, I like them because I like feeling pretty!

Yes! My husband isn't like that at all and it's still a real struggle for him to understand that about me. I think for me it's partly a result of being an only child.

Yes!! I like lots of it. DH is different--he is one of 5 and doesn't understand why you wouldn't always want to be around other people! I love him to bits, but I love my me time too

I need me time but for me that often looks like a cup of tea and scrapbooking or reading rather than going somewhere. I just like having time to recharge when I can ignore everything and everyone.

Yes, I absolutely need alone time. Whether that's actually doing something by myself or hanging out with friends, I have to have it. Luckily, DH is very understanding & also enjoys his alone time.

In the beginning, yes. Now that my LO is almost 2 years old, I don't need the me time as much anymore. With him being more independent, it's easier for me to have time to myself, even if it is eating breakfast quietly next to him in the mornings. I would rather have family time with DH and LO than me time alone.

I need it. Mostly it's after DS and DH are asleep. Just laying in the silence is enough lol.
ETA: The gym every morning is my me time too!

Oh my gosh yes, I never get it though. By the end of the day I am done, I'd love to be able to take a bath alone, or just time to sit in peace and quiet. After this weekend I want a weekend alone with no interruptions!

I get plenty of me time because I get home from work a few hours before my DH does. At least one day a week I will skip errands and chores during that time and watch a show or read.

Yes, I need a few minutes at least to unwind from the day. ESP since I started work again. A hot bath, where I have time to actually SHAVE, and a cold glass of wine usually does the trick...

But yes. Both DH and I need some time alone (ideally) everyday. Doesn't always happen lately but we try.

I don't really need me time, maybe because I spent the last few months home alone being unemployed. We also don't have kids yet. But there are times when I like quiet time - we go hang out in our bedroom and read and it's nice being close but letting my brain wind down too.

@mrsjyw: @mrs. wagon: I feel the same about work . . . it's like it has morphed into *me* time, although it is still work! I think it feels that way because I am forced to focus on something other than LO for a while, and that by default (because it's my career), it feels like me time. I am, however, dying for a pedicure!
@PrincessBaby: I do enjoy my showers in the morning after I have handed LO over to the nanny. It's funny how much more I have come to appreciate the *little* things, like time to shave my legs or run a pumice stone over my feet, or put my feet up for just a few minutes to enjoy a glass of wine!

@DigAPony: Same here! I don't think DH really gets that me time doesn't necessarily mean getting out of the house alone, and it doesn't mean doing some household chore without having to wrangle LO in the process. And it doesn't mean he gets to ask me a million questions during the occasional hour I do get to myself. Only child problems

Twice a week LO goes to daycare about 2 hours before I need to go to work. This is my me-time. I can get grocery shopping done, got a haircut last week, stuff like that.

Eh, not really. I am a FT WOHM so I usually get out on my lunch break (30 minutes - lame) and will pop over to Target or the mall. Being at work is enough time away from LO for me.
That said, I am dying for a manicure and a haircut!

I do...I have a long commute, and though some would consider that "me" time, I don't. It's nice to be able to unwind after work with that long commute, but I usually do work during that time. I feel as if I'm stretched pretty thinly these days and need some me time soon.

Not particularly. If it were up to me I would be RIGHT next to my husband almost all the time. My mom says I have never liked to be alone. When I was younger I liked her to sit in my room with me while I did my homework. I didn't need her to talk or interact with me so she would usually read but I just liked having her there. Nowadays sometimes do run out alone to get my hair cut or run errands but I do it because those things need to get done, not because I want to be alone.

Yes! Even before baby I needed it. I am going to sneak out tomorrow and get a manicure for some me time.
