Sometimes I think, "Yeah, let's buy a beach house." But mostly I'm like, "I can barely keep my one house up as it is!" Not to mention we couldn't afford a vacation home right now. Do you have one? Beach? Mountain? City? Do you rent it out as well?

In my dreams! lol! DH and I flop back and forth between moving into a bigger house or staying here and investing in a lakefront cottage.

Not yet. Someday I'd like to have a condo on the beach. I don't think I'd want a second house because I wouldn't want to deal with all the yard work and outdoor maintenance!

Even better... My parents do! They bought a beach house 2 years ago and we are loving it!

Yes we have one in FL. It is a few minutes from the beach on the gulf side. We don't rent it out but let our friends and family stay there on vacation.

Yes, my husband's family owns a vacation home in Tahoe and then we own property in the mountains in CO. I wish we had something on the beach though!

I would love to have a beach house or even just a cabin on a lake up north to spend our summers... But we dont even own one house as it is haha... Maybe someday.. We'll see!

We have a vacation home in the mountains with DH's family. We rent it out when we can and we're not using it.

We do not, but like @artbee: we live really close to the beach! Every weekend feels like a holiday!
Before we moved here, I thought about the vacation home thing, and I decided it's not my bag. Upkeep is expensive and time-consuming, renting is a pain, and I'd rather have cash to go travel to nice places (and have someone else cook/clean for me).

Nope... Not in our plans. I'm too much of a worrier and would be constantly stressed about something going wrong at the vaca house and us not knowing about it.

My husbands father owns a river house and beach condo, and my MIL had a family lake house. So we're set.

We don't yet, but we are looking into getting a condo near the beach. DH thinks its a great time to buy right now.

We are trying to purchase one in upstate NY. Unfortunately, our bid on a house we liked was rejected, and we haven't found another one that we like as much, so we're just waiting to see what comes on the market in the spring.

Nope and I don't think that we ever will. We both like to go on vacation to new places and if we own a place would feel like we had to go their every year for vacation.

@kml636: Yes! My parents always had a beach house as I was growing up, and they sold it when DH and I got married and moved away. Now that LO is here they're looking for another one to get us to visit more
