I usually go to the nail salon, but sometimes I will do my own fingernails. Not toes, though. I always go to the nail place for that.

I don't paint my fingernails but always paint my own toenails. I would love to go get pedis but they just aren't in the budget. I will occasionally get one as a gift for my birthday or something though, and that's nice!

I paint my own nails (often - 2+ times a week). I'm horrible at painting my toes and hate doing it - so I leave that to the salon usually.

Yup - I've only ever been to a nail salon 2x in my life - both times when I was visiting my family and went with my sister (because she goes regularly)

99% of the time I do. I never get my nails done because I think it's a waste of money since I'm so tough on my hands. I do get a pedicure a handful of times during the year, though. But I probably repaint my nail and toes once every week to week and a half at home. I'm good at it and I like switching it up often.

I usually get shellac on my nails. I do my toes at home if I remember, but get regular pedis!

I paint my own toe nails since I don't have time to get them professionally done. I occasionally paint my finger nails, but since I work with my hands often, they chip easily. I paint them a fairly light/neutral color so when they do chip, it doesn't look terrible.

Yup, I even have my own UV light to do shellac if I want!

I do my own about every 2 weeks. I have the OPI LED light so it's a beautiful gel mani. It was my birthday present from DH. Love it and it really payed for its self after a few months. I only go for pedis when I'm big pregnant otherwise I do my own.

I love painting my nails! I do my toes way more often since they don't wear out as fast, but occasionally will do my fingers....I should do them again soon!

Yup-- I only really go to the salon for mani/pedi's if I'm prepping for a special event. Not really in my budget these days

I do my own - I like to do them and I feel that whenever I get them done they don't last that long. But I always get an initial "clean-up" pedicure in the Spring.

The supplies (not counting the polish because I already had a few bottles) were only $20. They will def last me a year or more. No, i can't paint my own nails, I'm more likely to do my own toes (but prefer to leave it to the professionals!)

I suck at doing my own, but sometimes I do it because I don't want to spend the $ and have no time to go to nai salons.
I actually have been using these fake nail stickers; they're not the traditional glue that harms your nails, they have been easy to take off, they don't come off that easily, and I can easily cut/file them down to be short to fit my needs!
I only buy them at drugstores when I have coupons though.

I don't keep my hands painted. I do pedicures during the summer and during the winter just occasionally paint my own toes.

I'm too cheap to go get mani/pedis so I do them myself. I always did my toes ( I figure if I'm sloppy, no ones getting that close to see anyways) and then just recently started doing my hands. I used to avoid it cause it was a mess, but after a few times, I have down and actually do a pretty good job now.

I stopped painting my nails bc I wash my hands so often the polish chips off. I've just kind of given up on them. I used to get my toenails done at the salon when I only had ds1. Once ds2 came along, I just end up doing my toes at home. I've found with a steady hand and a great topcoat, it almost looks professional!

@snowjewelz: I've been thinking of buying something like this, but another brand that's sort of annoying to buy in person. Great to hear you like this brand and they are at drugstores! I'm excited to try it
I used to get my nails done somewhat regularly at salons, but have been doing my own since having kids. Perhaps I'll go once or twice a year with girlfriends, for a special occasion, or for some "me" time... but I'm used to doing my own now!

@SAHM0811: def give it a try for only $7-8! Mine usually stay on for at least 1.5 weeks and then I replace individual nails here & there. The only complaint I have is that when I run my hands thru my hair (esp in the shower), the hair gets caught in between since there is a teeny gap at the nail bed. But it really doesn't discourage me from using them; I love that I can "do" my nails an hour before heading out to a wedding. I have been tempted. To order colors I can't find at drugstores on eBay

I do my own pedicures and gel manicures. Every few months or so, I will get a professional pedicure, usually just in the summer months. I bought a DIY LED gel kit from Target (SensatioNail is the brand) and the kit has more than paid for itself already. The polishes are $10 so they're not much more than salon brand regular nail polishes.

If they are painted there is a 99% chance I painted them. I LOVE mani/pedis but they aren't in the budget. I think I've had like five, ever? I usually just paint my toes since I don't have a steady enough hand to do a good job on my fingers.

I think I've gotten a mani twice...? I don't typiccaly bother paint in my nails at all since I am apparently really hard on my hands. I always paint my toenails though
