We've done so for DS unintentionally every year...a baby schoenhut piano when he was 8 months, a train table at 20 months, a power wheels truck at nearly 3 and this year, a play kitchen at nearly 4. I never got any big gifts growing up since we were a family of 6 and money was usually tight. I don't know if we'll continue with the big gifts because it's getting expensive with two LO's now!

I don't think we will, but her grandparents might. LO is 5 months and we're getting her a piggy bank for Christmas.

We didn't get anything for her real big this Christmas, but probably will get her a bigger ticket item for her birthday instead.

We only do 2 gifts, and one is usually bigger. At 8 months a uncle goose block set, at 20 months a tricycle and at 2.5 a play kitchen. We Anticipate that all big gifts will be shared.

We got her a big stuffed animal for her first Christmas and some other little things since she was only month old. Then for her second we got her a play kitchen with all the food and stuff. Then for last year and this year we got her a few of the things that she has been wanting for a while. Lillian has a crap ton of toys already so we just got some new clothes for her and one little toy.

I have 2 brother and one of us would get something big. Like, one year I got a doll house, the next year my brother got a new bike, etc. My parents couldn't afford to get us each a big gift every year.

We do one 'big' gift, although we're not really big on huge expensive toys, so they'll likely never be huge. This year it was a train set from ikea, which is for my husband as much as her. He's over the moon with excitement about playing with it with her.

DD is 6 months old and we haven't bought her anything for Christmas. We're not big into presents (DH and I haven't even bought each other gifts) and since she's not really interested in stuff yet, we didn't bother. She'll have presents to open from grandparents anyway.
Our plan for future holidays and birthdays is to loosely follow the adage 'one thing they want, one thing they need, one thing to wear, and one thing to read'. Going by that, the present they want will probably be a bigger one, so to answer your question, yes, we do plan on giving a bigger present each year.
