I've just received two baby shower invitations (not for me): One is scheduled on my due date, and the other is scheduled for the day after my due date.
My initial reaction was to just decline.

Decline. That's what I did, and I had LO 3 weeks early!

Do you want to go? If it was one I would go to out of obligation, I would decline. If it was one I wanted to go to but wasn't sure if make it I would tell the host exactly that.

i had a wedding shower to attend a week before my due date. i rsvp'd yes but then just sent her a text saying if i thought i was even close to being in labor then i wouldn't be able to make it. she was totally cool with it. and seeing how i went 6 days over, i made it.

My brother is getting married a week before my due date. I'll be there but I can't promise my water won't break on his fiances shoes.

It depends on who they are for. If it's someone you are close to they probably wouldn't mind a maybe response, but if it's more of an obligation than you have a free pass to declining!

If I wanted to go, I'd tell them that I would be there as long as I wasn't in labour/just had baby. If I didn't want to go, I'd decline!

I'd accept on the condition I was still pregnant. I'm sure they understand.

If I really wanted to go, I'd say YES, but obviously, with the stipulation that I wasn't in labor. If I didn't really want to go, I'd use this as a really good excuse!!

I said yes to everything, but told hostesses of things that I might not make it due to baby coming. If events are local, live it up girl! Your baby might be 3 weeks early (mine was almost 4 weeks early) or could be 10 days late, so why put your life on hold and miss out on the fun?

I would decline saying it's on your EDD!
