Buffet; I feel like it'd be easier to deal with when you have kids involved! There wouldn't be any pressure to eat at a certain time/place.

Buffet. I prefer buffet for any occasion..... I'm a picky eater and that way I can get what,I want and not waste food because it's on my plate but I don't like it.

1st birthdays always seem on the more casual side to me, especially with kids! So I voted buffet. People can eat & mingle and enjoy the festivities
