I used to think that in general men preferred sons, but I've learned from Hellobee that it's pretty common for women to prefer daughters!
Do you prefer sons or daughters? What about your SO: does he or she prefer sons or daughters?

I always wanted a daughter and have one now and I'm so thrilled. My husband always wanted a son but became so smitten with LO that he now feels he doesn't *need* a son...He said he can probably have all girls and be happy.

my husband really wanted a son. i wanted at least 1 daughter. i don't think i can handle 3 boys or 3 girls (if we have 3 kids)....too much testosterone/estrogen. my husband really didn't want a daughter, but now that we're having one, i think he's really grown attached to her already and said he can't wait for her to come (although he leaves her all to me when she becomes a teenager lol)....

I always wanted a girl, and we have one. My husband would like a son, but loves lo and I know he'd love any baby we have.

I've always wanted a daughter, and my husband doesn't seem to have a preference. He seems to want a daughter because I want one so badly. Plus my best friend has a daughter who's totally adorable and fun and my husband totally likes playing with her, so he's seeing the draw of little girls, haha.
That being said, I'd really like both a son and a daughter. Plus, my husband is the only boy in his extended family so we're really the only chance to pass along the family name, so I DO want a son at some point.

I would like a daughter, DH would like a son. I think we would both be happy with either though! I would love to see the look on my dad's face if I could tell him he's finally getting a boy in the family (he has 3 daughters/3 granddaughters) so I'm okay with either. Mostly I want a girl beacuse all her cousins are girls and we would have a lot of good clothes handed down to us!

I prefer daughters! I asked my husband last week if he would be disappointed if we had 2 daughters and he said no. But then I told him I would be sad if we had 2 sons, hahaha (is that a terrible thing to say?).

If we had all sons, I wouldn't be disappointed. But girl's clothes and accessories are fun!
We both want 2 sons and 1 daughter. My husband really wants a daddy's girl. I am terrified of having a super girly girl, since I have always been a big tomboy.

My DH and I both really wanted a son and we were indifferent about having a daughter. I've grown up around alot of boys (brother, tons of boy cousins) so I felt comfortable raising one. Now that we found out we're having a girl, DH and I are slooooowly warming up to the idea of having a daughter.

Sons. I was thrilled when we found out we were having a boy and I hope the same happens again next time.

I'm ashamed to admit that I prefer daughters. I shouldn't care, but there is something so special about raising a strong independent woman that I just can't resist. We are so blessed...
(Though now I kind of wonder what it would be like to have a boy. #3?! kidding...)
Edited to add that Mr. Jacks is ALL about the girls. He loves dressing them up, playing rough, going to music class and ballet... The whole 9 yards!

I remember when my sister was born, I hot really upset because I had wanted a little brother. So I always thought that I preferred sons. Our first is a boy and we love him to pieces. But we feel so so blessed that we also now have a little girl. Can't wait for her to be older so we can do things together.

I really really want a son. I wouldn't be upset if we wind up having a daughter, especially considering how long TTC is taking. But I really want to raise up a little boy to be a respectful, Christian man like my husband. Maybe he'll be a mama's boy like my husband is too! And then I'll drive my future dil crazy because no girl will ever be good enough! Haha, kidding.

If all my kids had to be the same gender I would prefer all sons to all daughters. But honestly, it really doesn't matter. When people say they cried when they found out their baby wasn't the gender they wanted it actually really really upsets me.
